Put in a spoiler warning, asswipe.
Was there really a need to insult him? You could have just said put in a spoiler warning and left out the name calling.

On Topic: It is kinda sad that survivor had to die but at the same time I can understand the reasoning behind it. Mutation is quite fun and interesting game mode. I also love the fallen survivor character that they put in.

RIP William "Bill" Overbeck. You will be missed...
[sub]Dusty: WHAT?! Bill dies?!
Smitty: NO! I loved that old bastard!
OX: why couldn't it've been Louis!
Jake: I'll miss him.[/sub]
I agree with Ox

Hehe, I wonder how many people will get this Midnight Riders joke.

From what I heard, Valve already wanted to kill one of them off, as since L4D revolves around zombie films so much, a canon death was really missing. The fact that the vioce actor was busy just made any other choice impractical.

You should put the name in spoiler tags.

And it made the most sense for
Bill to go
, he was my second favorite character, but he
was getting old
, and it made the most sense for him to make the necessary sacrifice.

Agreed, but learn code dude nobody programs games in binary anymore...actually I dont think they ever did.
More or less true. All languages still technically are represented as ones and zeroes, as that's the only way the computer can understand it, but the languages use tags to represent machine language and make it easier for the other developers. So, in order to create a computing language, someone needs to create that language using machine language. Fun times.

OT: I'm not going to play this, but I'm glad it wasn't the character I played as. And I think the reason was due to Valve's inability to get the voice actor to come back. Or so I heard.

Wait, isn't the character who dies in game randomized, and a comic is coming out to show who really dies? Or is this info from the comic?

Well, it's all ones and zeros post compiled, but yeah

Also, GreatVladmir, remember, he's just ones and zeros, but you're just skin, bones, and muscles.

Did you derive your name from the Conrad novella, or just for your blackened soul?

Yes.
Actually just the novella, really. I'm not THAT mean.

The thread title said Spoilers in it.

I don't understand why people are bitching about it.

"The horror! The horror!" that I made my question a statement, and that I did not get my question answered in a way that makes sense.

It means I took it from both. The white text beneath clarifies that I took the name solely from the novella, and that my soul isn't really as blackened and charred as my username makes it out to be.

Damn. Bill was the coolest one in L4D. But it makes sense... If someone had to sacrifice himself for the group, Bill is the one who'd do it.
