Oh, and RTS' can only be played on pc, no game has actually managed to be really good as a console rts.
I'm looking forward to seeing how Stormrise fares
Hahaha, that's just a broken mess. Don't bother with it, it's bad on everything. It's also vista exclusive for some reason.

Honestly (and I posted in your ps3 thread) if you can afford to build a gaming pc right now, I'd do that over buying a ps3. Keep in mind a decent gaming pc that will last you for 4 to 5 years is going to cost you in the realm of 600-800$ if you build it from scratch where as a ps3 is going to cost you 400$ (or 300$ if the price drop actually goes through.)

However, there are some pros to gaming on a PC that you don't get with a console.

1. Games install to your hard drive so there is no disc loading time.
2. Multiplatform games released on PC are always cheaper than their console equivalents.
3. Games on PC are more customizable through custom interfaces, mods, interaction with the developer's console, etc.
4. It's well agreed upon that both first person shooters and real time strategies play better on pc.
5. There's just a much larger pool of software for a pc than there is for any console.
6. Access to MMOs and other genres that just aren't available on consoles.
7. A PC is actually a tool that can be used for practical purposes where a console is just a toy.

Basically the reasons for getting a PC over a console go on and on, but you're looking to drop a good deal more money on one. The key advantage a console offers is the price difference.

Almost everything I have to say has already been said. Better (and customisable) controls, better graphics, exclusive games, $10 cheaper, mods, only good platform for RTS's ect.

But what people don't always mention is that once you build your own gaming PC it becomes a learning experience, a skill, and often a hobby. It isn't just the games, but the expirience itself of building, upgrading, and comparing you rig.

I'd be more then happy to help you in building your own rig, wheather you need part recomendations, questions answered, or abit of tech support. Send me a PM if you want.
