Good thing I wasn't the only person who caught on that... I had to re-read it twice to make sure. @.@

I'd tell you to not buy the game and just [Suggestion-removed] it to hell and back, and rest peacefully on the Caribbean seas. DRM only effects the Customer any ways, it's getting to the point where I've not bought games due to purely the DRM on it. Bioshock, Assassins Creed, Spore ([word-removed] that just to flip the bird to the games publisher, I never played it I just wanted to be part of the statistic.), and a crap ton more.

It's just freaken unacceptable, If you treat your legitimate customers as criminals, then you may be surprised to find out that they don't like that.

Well EA sucked up westwood (those assholes), but they finished the Tiberum saga, and as much as I'd like to see a Red Alert 4, if they intend to go full anal like this I could care less.

I think that pretty soon all video gaming will be done via subscription. You won't actually own anything, you just pay as you play. Until then, yeah, we're just going to keep getting screwed.
Now I'm glad I only get to play 20% or 30% of the games I actually want to play. I'll just build up a list of games to fall back to for when that happens.

That is the day I become a full time pirate.

Yeah, internetz, I noticed that too...

To OP, it may not be unreasonable for you to completely switch over to the independent games scene where DRM is almost nonexistant. There's a lot of fun stuff; I've sunk 50 hours so far into Mount and Blade.

EULA is legal, when you accept it, you accept everything in it. Try reading them, if you don't like the EULA don't buy the game.
Wrong. EULAs are just like any other contract. Signing off on it doesn't dispose of all your legal rights. Like the OP said, it just hasn't been litigated yet.

That said, just walk away, read a book, build your own flamethrower-equipped mob of robotic minions, whatever. It's mass market entertainment, of course they're trying to separate you from as much of your money as you'll allow.

I've ruminated over this in some mild ways myself... I used to have a massive collection of games from the 80's and on, for many many systems (ala Happy Console Gamer) but they were all destroyed in an explosive fire in 2007. In the aftermath and after getting things together out of the rubble and ash, I snapped apart CD cases trying to salavage whatever I could... much of my PS1 and PS2 collection survived unharmed, but 100% of everything lost any and all monetary value (not that I'd ever have sold it, unless desperate) including stuff like Dragon Force.

I now keep all my PS1 and 2 games in a huge CD sleeve booklet with about 40 pages. I had a backwards compatible PS3 and loved it to death, and bought many good games for it. I spent pretty much all my time playing Little Big Planet though, and only ever got through my other PS3 games when I was completely burnt out on LBP for awhile. I had to sell the system in an emergency, along with all my PS3 games and it's been almost 8 months since I've had one. I've just been playing older PC games, having fun with that, and considering whether I should even bother getting a PS3 again, instead of just a cheapie PS2 - I have tons of PS1 an 2 games to keep me occupied, there'd be very little financial investment, and risk.

I really want to get back to LBP, as NinjaMicWZ, and I would love to at least repurchase a few games like Bioshock, Disgaea 3, MGS4, Fallout 3 (laptop can't run it), Mirror's Edge, GTA4, and get of course, Bioshock 2, FF13 and God of War III... but really, why? Will I ever get to play all these games, new and old? Will I get to keep it this time? Should I just stick with PC since Steam is persistent and I will always be invested in connecting to the net with a laptop?

I know if I rebuild my collection for PS3, all I'll do still is play only LBP (I was on it like a WoW player)... is it really worth it? Of course, I'll want to get Diablo III and will need a better laptop, and can I choose between one addictive game over the other? Is it logical to even eventually spend all this money in both avenues?

I used to buy every system. every game I thought I'd like and collect like a pack rat... but I'm apathetic about it now, and could easily see myself being content playing a PS2 and PC games while yearning for LBP lol

Long post, sorry. Good topic, hit a nerve. Why should I keep stacking on to the pile o' shame games, just because I love gaming?
