Okay, so you understand maths and write a coherent sentence in English. Well done.
However, do you know the Spanish word for pineapple? Can you name the bordering countries of Hungary? Can you explain the gerund?
The point I am trying to make is that everyone has different skills and not everyone will know the basics of everything. I for one am terrible at maths and spelling so when it is important I get someone who is much better at these things than me to double check my work. Faith in humanity is needed because no one person can know everything. Even when you google some infomation on the Internet you have to trust the person who typed it.
Belittling people for their lack of knowledge in a certain subject is not very helpful to either the critical or the critized. If you do feel so strongly about it though, why don't you set up at BODMAS maths class at school to teach those who struggle with this concept. I am sure you will find this much more satisfying than contributing your concerns on an Internet forum.
I would also propose that one question on Facebook is not sufficient basis for research on people's math skills
