No gamebryo engine, blah blah, etc.

Where do all these people keep coming from that still don't know that?

It's a new engine but it'll still be buggy. It's hard to test and patch games that allow for so much to happen in almost any order of events with only a dev team. Most errors in the Bethesda games aren't noticed until they are in the hands of us.

But again, new engine should be more stable and they still have five months to make sure it doesn't crash computers and red-ring consoles.

What makes you think that the Dev team does the bug testing?
Instead of ...you know, a bug testing team? or so called Quality Assurance team

Oblivion:
Quality Assurance Kevin Kauffman, Nathan X. McDyer, Will Noble, Jennifer Noland

Additional Quality Assurance Ben Barreras III, Brian Bloomfield, Angela Browder, Ruben S. Brown, James Costantino, Joseph DiAngelo, Michael Dulany, Viatcheslav Erofeev, Toby Franklin, Ryan Gerhardt, Brian Jackson, Michael Jenkins, Greg Kline, Christopher Krietz, Michael Mazzuca, Aaron Mitschelen, Louis Riley, Joseph Romano, John Pisano, Tihana Tresnjak-Smith, Russel Vaccaro, Robert Wallace, Absolute Quality

Oh please. Oblivion and Fallout weren't that bugged. People who chose to play them on consoles got screwed by bugs, but I've never any problem on the PC that I couldn't fix via judicious application of the console.

hmmm looking back i really sounded like a melodramatic twit, sorry about that. New trailers of games im looking super forward to makes me think if it will be released in a good state.

Alternatively. Wait 12 months and a number of patches later then buy the inevitable GOTY edition.
That's only if Skyrim IS GOTY.

There are some strong contenders for GOTY...LA Noire, Arkham City, Uncharted 3, Skyrim, etc etc.

Personally, I think LA Noire will get it...(Since GOTY is supposed to be for the game with the most innovation, from what I understand.)

I only had problems with New Vegas, and Bethesda didn't develop that.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion were pretty fine with me performance wise. Yeah, I ran into a few bugs here and there. But I also run into bugs in every single game I play. It's going to happen.

As others have said, Skyrim is using a new engine which Bethesda is using. This should cut down on the amount of bugs compared to their last games.

Also, how dare you propose that Skyrim be delayed. How. Dare. You.

Not to mention that New Vegas was made my Obsidian, and they already had a preeeetty poor track record when it came to polishing games. That combined with that buggy engine was a recipe for disaster.
Indeed, and people do seem to forget that New Vegas wasn't actually developed by Bethesda. And to the person who made this thread: stop being so melodramatic. Oblivion was hardly that buggy; I didn't encounter my first bug until about 20 hours in, and even then there was a simple console workaround.

Skyrim shouldn't be delayed - in fact, judging by how far the game looks to be completed, I'd say their current release date of 11/11/11 was already perhaps later than an internal release date, in an attempt to minimise those sparsely encountered bugs.

I've never experienced a bug in a Bethesda made game.

Hyperbole - I think you used a few.

They release GOTY editions of games with DLC regarless of if it actually won GOTY.

You watch, Bethesda are great at it.

I knew eventually someone will say something like this and that the main reason of their explanation was...BUGS! Bethesda has made some bug games god damn it!

except there using a new engine. Not trying to sound like a jerk but your post was kind of for nothing just because of one thing...new engine. That is all.

LA Noire was a really good game but at the same time did not fulfill some expectations and it's share of flaws.

Skyrim imo is just not even a question goty, unless the game really messed up which seems very improbable, than the only competition it has is probably Uncharted 3, and use to be ME3 but since that switched to 2012 than Skyrim almost has a clear run despite how great the year of 2011 has been for gaming.

Well the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences who give the official GotY award didn't award any of the following games GotY but they all have a GotY edition.
Arkham Asylum
Borderlands
Fallout 3 (Won developer's Choice at GDC)
Oblivion
Dragon Age: Origins
Fable 2

Yeah these games probably did win GotY from someone, but they didn't get the official GotY .

It's a silly name for "all the DLC edition" really.

So why should it be delayed? why should the thousands, albeit millions of followers be forced to wait?
So the plague can be cured.
The Glitches patched.
The relentless pain following these incidents removed.
And so i beg, to you, your friends, to anyone working on this game. I beg for you, in the name of dovahkin, to free this game of its shackles, remove its burden and let it soar, higher than any game has soared before.
Then again one could also argue that this game (like most anything produced by Bethesda) will never work properly. So why not release it now?

Seeing as though this is their first game with a whole new engine and it's their first time porting over to pc, you can't really believe a few more months in development will help. It's going to be a complete mess no matter how long they take.

I hope I'm wrong because I know that people are going to buy it anyway but it's all very predictable.

My recommendation to OP is Delay Buying it. It wont play any better (because the first thing they fix is the benign aesthetic glitches and exploits) but at least you'll save some money.

I'd be more worried about how dumbed down it might be but until release I'm just going to have to sit here crossing my fingers.

I haven't seen anything in trailers, demos, or news so far to suggest that Skyrim will have the same bugs as previous games, so why delay it?

Reasons why Skyrim shouldn't be delayed:
Because I will murder someone if it is.
