Do you think they should keep making sequels or try making new franchises.
For example Madden 2010 or Brink by Bethesda. Also are you happy that there putting Marvel Vs Capcom 2 on 360 and PS3.

E3s been on for one day and I think I've only heard a few sequels as big news, most of the news this year, or at least the biggest news, seems to be on the hardware portion of the industry, not the software portion, at least for now.

Is there a problem with sequels to very successful games? *cough* Halo

But there was quite a few new games too that maybe you missed, I saw alot of them actually.

I know there are a fair few sequels, but here's a list that may brighten your day (some of these are coming out soon, but they're still probably at E3 anyway):

Brutal Legend
Borderlands
The Saboteur
Prototype
Infamous
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Alien vs Predator (not a remake apparently)
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Alan Wake
Dante's Inferno (urgh... I hate this game)
Darksiders: Wrath of War
Blur

Take heed, friend! There are big original titles out there still! Plus, a couple of nice remakes like The Secret of Monkey Island and Turtles in Time for us to remember the brilliance of the original games.

And I totally forgot about Dragon Age: Origins! That looks amazing. In fact... There might actually be more original big-name originals this year than there was big-name sequels last year.

Well these days any game that has a bit of success has to be made into a sequel or more to milk it dry. Even when a sequel isnt needed or doesnt fit in the story all that well.. just producers hungry for money.

Maybe original ideas are tapped out? Or maybe people are hypocrites and no matter how many times they say we want a new game they want to see familiar faces.

I don't mind good sequels at all. I'd love to see someone bring out Stonekeep 2, Arcanum 2 or Planescape 2.
