Thank you. I want to reinforce that point. Spamming reported and other comments makes you no better then them.
So do we have you to thank for banning 'likes_it_rough'?

They do it because they think it's funny, for the same reason people buy Dane Cook DVD's. There are also people who think putting pies on their heads keeps them warm during the winter and using racial slurs on the internet makes them tougher than the guy who beats them up in real life. Polite Society just calls them stupid and ignores them.

What do people have against trolls? They live under bridges, they're strong, they exist in 70% of all medieval tales. I don't see how you can compare those parasitic spammer beings to trolls.

Yes, he is gone now and I cleaned up the forums of all his posts.

It seems he has left us, fortunately, but there is a decent point to be learned here, for most of us. I ha da customer come into my store about 2 days ago, complaining and bitching out her ass about a bad flag order. So, in order to get her out ASAP, I was polite and so sincere it was dripping from me, and she left, storming, but unable to hold a candle to me for being so "nice".

The same can be said of trolls. Ignore them to death. Don't post on their GOLD and JOKE threads. Yeah, go ahead and look, and report, but SAY NOTHING. It seems we have actually culled that threat today.

I created a topic recently about how I won't be pushed out of the forum that I like, by arrogant sarcastic trolls. The trolls obviously came on and had a go at me, but there were some nice people who agreed with me.

I hate trolls so much.
I'm sorry, but your viewpoint that nice people=agree with me and trolls=not agree with me is so terribly shallow I can't even begin to point out the issues with it.
Well, one of the issues is that it's shallow.
*sigh* I suppose. I should have written "begin to point out all the other issues with it." in hindsight, but I've been quoted on it now so it seems pointless to edit it. My bad.

Attention - people want to be talked about in threads like this one. Irony much...
/thread. Trolls do it for attention, that's the entire reasoning behind it.
Well of course it will be my view, that people who agree with me are nice. To me. Like if you had a point to make, and someone came along and enforced it, your view would be 'wow, what a nice guy'. If someone came along and had a go at you for simply expressing your views, you wouldn't think so highly of him.
Would I think he was nice? Not really. I'd think he agrees with me and thus has a similar viewpoint, whether he was nice or not would not be the issue here. To take an example from the forums, I've agreed with Eggo's viewpoints on a number of things, however he doesn't put himself out there as a particularly friendly or nice guy. Perhaps I haven't talked to him enough or gotten to know him properly, but despite the fact that he agrees with me I don't personally see him as nice.

If someone came to me and expressed disagreement with my viewpoints in an intelligent and well thought out manner, then I would think well of them generally. Admittedly some views (the world is only 6,000 year old) I take a tad more dislike to, however in general I'm willing to accept people's views as their own, disagree with them and maybe debate a bit but move on regardless. Disagreement with someone should not mean that you dislike them. That's how wars get started.
I can see where you're coming from, and I agree with a lot of what youre said. But To be honest, if someone comes along and disagrees with me (In a sarcastic, troll like manner) I will dislike them. If they disagree with me in an intelligent way, then I will respect their intellect, and perhaps, if they were nice, like them. But most friendships come from shared views, and common grounds. If someone agrees with your views, and you agree with theirs, you're much more likely to hit it off.

I think that trolls just like to have fun. there pretty annoying though. There fun porbably includes making people angry due to sme deep seeded hatred of themselves. I guess that would be the most reasonable explanation besides revenge or a 4chan mindset.
You are the troll that made all those threads!!!

I used to enjoy trolling and I find creating mischief hilarious. I don't do it on this forum though because I actually care about being banned here.

TROLL POWER! TROLL POWER! TROLL POWER!
But RGP is most definitely not a troll...

Furthermore you're just giving them the attention they want. If your five-year-old starts throwing a tantrum because you didn't give him your undivided attention you don't just drop the cooking and say "good boy, that's how you get things in life." You ignore his whining and although it may be painful you help them discover self reliance and communication skills. Remember, negative attention is still attention.

Totally, he has never shown any kind of trollish behavior at all. Ever.

Does anybody else think that RGP (I typed that in RPG the first time o.0) is a bit like GEMS? You know, with the making over 1000 posts in a month, and the inane, slightly trollish behaviour?

I think we should investigate this one.
