I remember most PS1 and PS2 games cost $49.99 CAD at launch.
According to the Bank of Canada inflation calculator, $49.99 in 1998 (middle of the PS1 gen) is $68.75 today, and $49.99 in 2003 (middle of the PS2 gen) is 61.07. PS3 games used to cost 59.99 for most of the gen, the equivalent of $65.74 using 2009 data.
New games are now mostly $69.99. So it's no longer true for us Canadians, but it's still true for Americans:

$49.99 in 1998 = $72.95 in 2014
$49.99 in 2003 = $64.62 in 2014
$59.99 in 2009 = $66.51 in 2014
(Source: http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/)

Since Americans still pay $59.99 for new AAA games, it's the cheapest it's been in recent memory.

Also Steam sales, GoG, Humble, etc.
