I think people just love to find something to hate about something that your supposed to love honestly, it happens to everything these days. In this case it's the New Transformers movie

Why do so many people and press think it's garbage ? i watched it with great skepticism and noticed that this was actually a great movie with only one flaw ( Longer then expected )
also all the reviewers seem to moan a great deal about the smallest things like the stearotypical twin transformers , are these 2 personallites (which we all find funny) really gonna screw up a movie ?

people have told me how it has no plot yet these was a clear plot and it was dead simple
i'm not going to talk anymore i just want a really good explantion to why this movie has recievied so much negativity ? (i do respect opinion's on how someone doesn't like something but in this case they give opinion's without any sense)

Forgive me for my rant but i need a explantion.
The movie is arse, that's why people are mad. It just emphasises the point of how dire the movie industry is; they make a film that costs $200 million US to make and it has the depth and complexity of an individual lego brick - and people SUPPORT this tripe by dishing out $20 because they thing it's "fuckin' rad".

It's the same in the art industry in general - I've been working in it for years. Art Galleries, Museums and so on have to throw an epic "never fail" exhibition once every 1 - 2 years just to keep afloat. It's degrading, they literally have to get on their knees and blow off the mass audience to enable them to do what they do - which is to display gorgeous art, usually for free, for an unwilling public.

Now I'm as big a fan of mindless entertainment as the next - hell I enjoyed the first movie as god awful as it was; but as MovieBob says it's just Bay tea-bagging on a global scale. With this he says "fuck you critics and anyone who has invested anytime in taking the art form seriously, a movie does not have to mean or be significant in anyway for it to be a commercial success... In fact, the less thinking the better", which is just a load of shit. Why does he get to charge an invoice that supplies him with a lifetime worth of Ferrari's whilst those with fresh ideas (bad and good) never get greenlighted because executives think that making people thing is a poor commercial decision.

That is why so many people are pissed.

Stop with the racism card. The twins were robots. One was green and the other was red. Nowhere was it stated that they were black. You're just assuming they were supposed to be because of how they acted and spoke.

Which is racist.

Thank you for telling me how I feel. Much appreciated.
The writers didn't even bother going through the lore. They could of made a half-way decent Sci-Fi romp... Instead they turned it into close ups with Stereotyped characters. Honestly, that shot where Prime gets back up... The shot is taken up with the US flag... If that isn't a literal wank into the audiences face I don't know what is.

I saw it today, saw the moviebob review yesterday, concluded it was a bit too "ranty" and disregarded it as a unhappy fanboy. Not ever being a fan of the originals (though I have seen the original animated Movie, was quite good), I gave it a shot.

Well, he was right. It's shit, I just felt like I wasted alot of time. And the "black" twins were cringe worthy. And the balls.... The balls...

Felt like the last 40 mins or so were "America! Fuck Yeah!" moments. Got a bit boring watching the Decepticons (spelling?) getting the shit kicked out of them by the army. Megatron included (he seemed about as useful as a wet turd in a microwave). Aren't Transformers meant to be more more advanced than us? Like, by alot? As in Independence Day alot? Hence the need to keep the Autobots here to stop us getting owned.

The IQ dropping "jokes" and god awful acting were painful to watch aswel. Disregard moviebob and other fanboys critiques if you like, but alot of regular joe's dislike it too. Hence all the hate.
On the face of it, this is what's wrong. But it's still a deeper issue of "Fuck you movie industry, tripe makes money, not ideas".

I loved Transformers 2.
And everyone in the world will too if you follow this rule.
Don't pay any attention to the story.
It's just there to string together the awesome fights scenes and shouldn't be paid close attention to.
I saw the first movie and knew the story was gonna be as shit in the new one as it was in this one. So I ignored the plot for the most part and just focused on the robot fights which were beyond awesome.

PS: Also ignore anything not CG. The humans are unnessecary to the entire franchise and should all be shot.

Ya too bad the fights were all over in about a minute and only take up 20 minutes out of 150 minute length of the movie. If the movie was 100 minutes and had fights longer then 5 minutes I could of forgiven it. But no. I had to look at a porn star and Even freakin Steven "acting" for 2 hours.

supposed to love? why am I supposed to love it? some people love it, some hate it, some are in between.
Sounds to me you're upset that not everyone loves the same thing you do.
No i think that people are expecting far to much and when they didn't get what they expected they started saying it was shit.

I'm getting the vibe that people hate it because it had no proper writing or any meaningful plot
now thats alright i guess but seriously it's Tranformers we are talking about a cartoon, comic a kid's show all about Robots that were fighting ,even then we would watch it to see robots fighting why do we expect anything different ? i remember that i watched the old shows to see robots fighting with a decent story and thats pretty much the same as the movie only on a bigger scale. It makes no sense to say that it sucked because it was all explosion's and robots fighting with little story because thats what it's meant to be.

and the robot balls were funny period.

Congratulations. Could you read the conversation that occur in your own thread, otherwise don't bother.

My point is: Why does commercial success = idiotic. Why do we have to keep bringing the bar down instead of trying to push it? It's because of brianless, unimaginative masses with a "that'll do" mindset that defend this tripe saying "Why expect more?". We should expect more because with that kind of money, I would expect to walk away from a film with my eyes blown off my face - not a "mediocre action romp". Instead, the best film I have seen of late was "Let the Right Ones In", a film about Swedish Vampires set in the 70's. Watch that and tell me Transformers "fuckin' rawked".

i really liked most of it... and i hate films...
effects are nice and everything looks good...

they were really REALLY laying it on thick with megan fox... trying so hard to make her look attractive... it was scary... and i see it worked on some people so... i do worry for some human beings...

a couple of characters were a bit useless and mudflap and skids just disappeared lol... feels as though they were meant to be killed but they decided they were to childish to have it done to them so they cut it out...

erm... also... the egypt bit... it got really boring from pretty much when they started running until optimus is (dun dun DUN!!!) revived... then it was slightly less boring till the end of the film...

besides that... its got nice combat and blah... so it was ok i guess... definately above the average standard of american cinema...
which sucks btw...
