I pointed this out in the thread of the original story, but they are clearly over promising with 3D-fully-voiced-localized-cutscenes-with-indepth-character-and-armour-customization-and-choices-that-actually-matter(lol) all for $500000. People have gotten very cynical over the Ouya and Broken Age debacles and the view that Kickstarter is "the future!!" is dying hard.

Also, you know, Hepler. Nobody likes her anymore.
I don't know, Mighty No.9 is still raking in no less than 25K a day, Shante is on track and that unknown Hyper Light Drifter is going strong.

People are however are no longer taking big risks, which this project definitely is.
There's a difference between taking on risk and wiping your ass with hundred dollar bills before flushing them into the yonder.

Well
1. I never heard of your game.
2. I never heard of your company.
3. I never heard of what your game is about.
4. Your asking for a lot to just show a game that's in prototype.
5. Your no where near the goal and it's been half the time about already, so i'll be a waste of time.
6. Instead of you advertising or doing a green-light along with I find out about your project on a message board with tons of negative comments out it already.
7. I don't back projects that have marks like " pay 50 bucks and get this in game item, pay 75 bucks and get this, 100 and this." If I'm buying your game a year or so early, give me all the damn dlc or I'll just wait till it comes out and someone uploads it ;p

8.* and probably the project killer. It's cool to bring in like a music guy to write your music. If your bringing in a WRITER to WRITE your game, you have problems, and who knows what that random writer will do to your game.

People are still buying into mighty #9 because they are guaranteed to get a game. If you gonna give them the money anyway to buy the game, give it to them while they are still making it to make a better game.

Sorry but if your some unknown indie studio, your gonna have to make your game first or most of the way and then use kickstarter for more " Hey we just need money to buy the software to actually sell our games and lawyers."

Most people have already pointed out that Helper?s name doesn't really help the game at all. Most people hold the name in great disdain, and the people that don?t usually give Helper a resounding meh. Helper doesn't have an impressive resume that some of the other developers that have headed other kickstarters have had.
Also the game looks eh on its own, so there?s that.

The main reasons I can come up with are 1. It just doesn't look good 2. I'm not a Bioware fan, so the credentials aren't impressing me 3. Is it doing anything that Mass Effect hasn't already done? 4. Double Fine

Can't wait for Mighty No. 9 though.

In other news though... Whoo! The guys from Might No.9 made a shout out to the Shantae kickstarter! Here's hoping it steers some more supporters its way.
On the day of the shout out, the Shantae Kickstarter received over $20000 in pledges. Minus the first day outliers the average amount of money gained each day was around $10000 dollars, with only $4400 required each day for it to reach its goal.

At this point its only a matter of time before it reaches its goal.

I'll be honest I do not like Hepler's work at all. I don't think it's fair to blame everything that went wrong at Bioware after the acquisition by EA on her, but she certainly contributed to the problem.

Either way I will not be contributing to this Kickstarter, but it looks like it will be reaching its goal regardless.

Sime~Gen is 'misunderstood vampires' and their speshul snowflake sidekicks IN SPAAAAACE! No thanks.
Ms. Hepler is an unremarkable writer who believes that game writing at the level of such literary diarrhoea such as Stephanie Meyer is something to 'aspire' to. Even if the first was insufficient to turn me off, the fact that the second is listed as an 'incentive' definately does.

Wha? The Kickstarter is flatlining, the reason for this tread was to generate some sort of interest.

Never heard of it but,

Off-brand Mass Effect? Meh.
Utterly insipid universe(hand tentacles? really?)? No thanks.
Jennifer "I'd rather skip the gameplay" Hepler? She didn't deserve the death threats etc but I find her writi-zzzZZZZZzzz...

Skimmed through the bumf and found this gem too: "Do you want to be a space grunt and simply kill them all OR do you want to delve deeper into the story and ultimately find an alternate solution to brute force?"

Bwahahaha!
