The devs DID lie. Many times.
Such as? Everybody keeps parroting this, but nobody gives examples.
Watch Angry Joe's review of the game. He lays it all out pretty darn nicely.
Indeed. Angry Joe posted video proof of all things not in the game but promised to be there.

Well here's a Reddit post documenting what Sean Murray said and what he actually delivered.
http://www.onemanslie.info/the-original-reddit-post/
Well, see a lot of what was brought up in that reddit post was vague things he mentioned once or twice in an interview, and the internet poured over such things.

A big issue, and a big failing of people Like Sean or Molyneux, is the muddiness of whether they are talking of conceptual ideas or stuff they actually proven in house to be able to do. Half of those 'promised features' could simply have been concepts they genuinely tried to implement. Ive noticed Molyneux seems to be in the habit of talking about his games early in their genesis. Prehaps the trick is to keep your mouth shut and not talk about the game until you are 6 months out, so you know what you have? But then again prehaps Sean did say some stuff that took so long to implement that he could know that stuff was never going to be in the game by release day(but Im not a programmer so I cant say)

I say this as someone who didn't know shit about No Man's Sky because I was busy playing Elite while it was being marketed.

Hype didn't have shit to do with NMS being bad. Sure, it may have made it worse for some, but that doesn't change the fact that I as someone who only knew 'This game is a space game' fucking HATED No Man's Sky.

The game sucked because it made no attempt to be engaging.

No man's sky was great at first, but the endless chasing of objectives and going here or there to explore this area gets tedious fast. While I appreciate the game's freedom they should include more things to do so we can use that freedom effectively.
