If you're so tied to a game publisher that you think their actions are abusing you, there's probably more going on on your side than theirs. I can understand being frustrated with their business practices, but if you're categorizing it as abuse, that's giving a maker of disposable entertainment a strangely central space in your life.
Myself, I'm interested in games that look like they'll be entertaining - so while I may think that EA has made some questionable business choices, that doesn't bother me because it has no bearing on my life in general. If they put out something that looks to match my taste, I'm going to buy it (and look forward to it before it comes out). I didn't buy Sim City, but it didn't interest me, so cries about needing to boycott (or of being abused) just make me roll my eyes. Similarly, I see people rage about DA2 and ME3, but I was entertained by both of those, so even if I thought they were imperfect, in the end they did what they were supposed to do, and that's all I ask of a game.
