Why we play

The point of video games:
1. Video games show a different reality, more interesting and intriguing world without dickheads and assholes. And when there are, you can just kill them.
2. To quote Yahtzee; "To have some fucking fun!"
3. You can live out your dream virtually. It's like moving to a different dimension and fulfilling dreams, although the world isn't as immersive as reality.

Because I'm terrible at social interaction, and enjoy listening/reading to a good story, so I play games. That and they're fun.

Life for me is boring, repetitive and frustrating, a mix of failures and expectations. Compared to Saviour of the Wasteland, badass, ladies man and guy who has to answer 5 or 6 questions then kill a few easy enemies to get by in life and you can understand why I prefer gaming. And lets face it, they're pretty.

I suppose it's for the following reasons I like gaming:

- sense of escapism every now and then
- I have a thing for good stories
- the joy of seeing completely unrealistic concepts and fantasies realized
