It just tends to piss me off that everyone thinks it's hilarious to make fun and discriminate Jews and hell while I'm at it, Gingers.

I myself am not a Jew or a Ginger, but it makes me mad that shows like south park and other forms of media make it to where they can form hatred upon one group of people.

At school or on xbox if something goes wrong, "****ing jew" or "you dirty jew".

Then there's the blatant hate for Gingers which doesn;t even make sense to me, they're people, they do nothing to harm you and neither do the Jews. yes the ginger kid on youtube kind of ruined his cause but let's pretend he never happened.

so I ask you Escapist, why do people hate jews and gingers? Does it make you angry? Or are you a part of the 12-16 year old angsty group who lieks to make fun of people for no reason?

South Park, basically.
Jews and ginger jokes are many in that show.

I don't think most of the people who make ginger or jew jokes don't have any legitimate hatred behind it. They're jokes. That's pretty much it.

Before I say anything. You do know that its not 12-16 year olds to do it. Older people are just as much to blame.

OT: Anti-semitism has been around for alot longer than south park. Personally I have nothing against any jewish person or anyone in that religion but I will admit to using jew as a derogatory term.

As mentioned above, I don't think most people mean to be discriminating when they call someone a jew, only insulting. It's kinda like calling someone a ******. They're not saying it because they hate jews or homosexuals, but because the word has become just another swearword.

A LOT is not a four letter word. Sorry, it just gets me.

And, OP, South Park was, to my knowledge, not trying to inspire any sort of hatred towards gingers. It was a satirical take on the whole issue of racism. Some moron just misinterpreted it, is all.

As for anti-semitism, well, as the person I quoted stated, that's been around a long time. Some people are just set in their ways.

People just can't be original and will steal opinions from others, Jew bashing dates back to ancient Egypt actually, and ginger bashing is a gross exaggeration of the predigest of the 1920's but thanks to south park people tend to think it's okay to slur racial epitaphs for no reason because they find it funny, south park may be a great show but the fans are annoying 12-year-olds that don't get that the jokes are a satire of more serious matters. but it scares me how much power a cartoon can have. so I'll get a few things straight... red is, in my opinion, the most attractive hair color (on women anyway). and Jews are people just like everyone else who have sadly suffered through some of the worst tragedies in human history for their beliefs. The only way to fix racism is to treat people like people, not stereotypes.

I dunno, but since finding out I'm part Jewish, I've been telling a hell of a lot more anti-semitic jokes.

Then again, the whole point behind me telling bigoted jokes is because the whole concept of someone taking it serious is FUCKING HILARIOUS, so...

Because it is a joke. I don't even do it, but I am smart enough to realize it is a joke. Seriously, I thought this was allready covered about 10 years ago?

I'm ethnically Jewish so I don't know if I'm being made fun of, but I don't get offended and don't even try to insult someone who calls me a Jew for an insult. I mean why sink down to their level? I feel better knowing I couldn't give two shits anyway.

I get made fun of for being Jewish, but my friends make sure that I know they are just joking so I really don't have a problem with it. Now I have been told before by someone that he is going to finish the work Hitler started on my family, his ass was promptly beaten. Long as its a joke who cares? Just make it known that its a joke.

Aren't you 70 years late with this?

Jokes aside, everybody who isn't "the man" is 'hated' (read: ridiculed) at some point in time. And "the man" is 'hated' by those who don't truely hate anything. If that makes any sense.

Either way, I wouldn't worry about it. It's something else every year, nowadays.

Like everyone said, it's a joke from South Park. I personally do not like it.

As for actual hatred towards Jews, that, along with all other racism, stems from a lack of knowledge of others. If people got to know other groups of people more, they wouldn't have racist feelings against them. I know that it's hippie-esque, but it's the truth.

I hate the term "ginger". It sounds stupid and I never heard it before getting on the Internet.
