Yes, because Ikea desks are cardboard! They're like those doors you buy at Lowe's, not completely wooden, utterly completely destructible by a 5 yr old with a grudge. At least pressed particle board has some heft to it and can last a while. I don't see one of these lasting half a year at my house.
