To.... not die? There's no real reason other than I don't want to die, so I just try to make the best of it.

I live cause I don't find a reason not to. Sure, it might be tough, but hey, death might as well be infinity times worse. Either you do something with your life, which is a 95% chance to succeed with commitment and proper thinking, while death is always a 50% chance of being good, and 50% chance of being shit. At least that's my measurement. Also, it's human instinct to not die.

My story is simple. I wake up in the morning and when the day has gone, I still feel like a given up person. So... I´m still alive and well. But somethings missing. What are your thoughts?

Misspelling...
Welcome to life as we know it.

What you are missing is purpose, a goal. Your life has become stagnant is what your subconcious is saying. You need to find something that peaks your interests to the point of obssession once again. Maybe its time to give the computer a break and pursue other interests like diy or running or sports or w/e.

I had a similar feeling recently, it was because I'm unemployeed and literally had no reason to leave the house other than groceries and to sign onto unemployment benefit every 2 weeks.

Then i had to go on a mandatory course and well...i felt alive again. Drained like hell after each day because it was a soul sucking hell hole to be in but i realised at that moment that I needed the different places to be to stop feeling like that.

I know life is rough, my girlfriend has had one of THE roughest I have ever seen and she isn't even 20 yet.

But for me I live for making people laugh.

And sex

I´m new here so I couldn´t guess what is wrong with my question.
First thing, I see it alot with newer members, and I see the reasoning from some people who won't be neccessarily as polite as I am. The reason they say not to post new threads right away is that you should look around a bit and get the lay of the land. See what's appropriate, read the "Forums and You" thread, very informative and gives a good idea of what's accpepted and what's frowned upon.

OT-Other than the obvious reasons of my girlfriend and family and friends, I live to cook, I cook to live. Food's my passion, so I can get up and get my ass handed to me on the line for 12-16 hours a day, but when I get done, I have a real palpable sense of accomplishment. I just fed a ton of people really good food, and that in turn makes me feel good. I go to bed exhausted and sore, but I wake up ready to do it all over again.

Welcome to the Escapist! Good to have you here!

a reason to live isa very personal thing. everyone's is different. you feel like something's missing? figure out what it is, and go get it. see how you feel then.

I live because I have music and friends. That I have friends and that I can play a number of instruments both keep me going.

I live to learn and maybe be useful some day.
Also, what's the alternative?
Rotting in the ground? Yeah, that's very inspiring.

Find something you enjoy doing/are interested in/are good at and make it your profession.
For example, I was always interested in biology, now I study medicine.
Others love painting and study art.
Or whatever.

Everybody has to find their own, personal way in life.
We can't tell you what to do because we don't know what you'd enjoy.
