-Because the original policy wasn't anti-consumer at all... MS didn't NEED to add more DRM; the piracy rates on consoles are relatively low thanks to physical DRM on discs, they were planning to make everything digital, and thus required digital DRM similar to Steam's check-in. Of course Steam's check-in is something like once every 2 weeks, but Steam doesn't let you sell your games or share them with your friends.

-How is no one excited about having modding on a console?

-Most ppl see the Kinect 2 as a selling point, since multimedia features are cool for ppl who do things outside of game, and I can't be the only one who wants to see motion controlled hardcore games, which the K2 is capable of delivering. It can even read your emotions and change gameplay according to that...

-MS has invested in cloud computing, which may not be a HUGE thing at the present moment, though it was important enough for Titanfall to be a Microsoft exclusive, but in years to come it will pay off and help future proof the console. Yes Sony also has some form of cloud storage but nothing close to the scale of Windows Azure.

-Also, I work for Microsoft, because ppl who disagree with the internet hivemind don't exist.

Why is it that the only xbone threads I've seen in the last couple of days have been "Don't hate Xbone" threads?

No one was talking about the xbone until you say stop hating it.

Another one of these threads? Look, we've had like a billion of these in the past few weeks, all saying the same thing.

We get it, people, so just stop.

Ok... so I know that was all probably important and serious and whatnot, but are they really calling their cloud system azure? Am I the only one now picturing a system powered by the biotic potential contained in asari naughty-bits?

I'm going to do the same thing with the new kinect that I did with the first one. I like the voice commands, but motion controls are terrible and don't work while sitting down. Since it can't be turned off independent of the voice commands, I tape a little piece of cardboard over the camera bit and watch in amusement as it tries desperately to find me. >:D

Disagree on the Kinect. I'd say most people see it as a useless peripheral that achieves nothing but to increase the price of the console.

"Hardcore" gamers, yes, though they make a small percentage of the audience and don't even account for all "hardcore" gamers. And no one likes change in general even if its good for them. "What's this thumbstick good for? You can go all useful directions with a thumbpad, end of argument. Ew a rumble pack? A short-lived gimmick."

Apparently you don't need to work for Microsoft in order to run around parroting their marketing department.

- I don't care about "anti-consumer". All I know is that a console that would shit itself inside out if my internet went down was not a console I wished to own.

- I'm not excited about modding because I already own a PC. I've been installing mods since I was ten years old.

- Yeah, sounds a lot like what was said about the original Kinect. How did that work out for us Steel Battalion? Not so great? Huh, fancy that.

- Nobody seems to have explained exactly why "cloud computing" is so awesome. It's starting to sound like a buzz word. This is awesome! Why is it awesome? Because The Cloud, that's why!

So yeah, still not seeing any reason why I would buy an Xbone over the $100 cheaper alternative that didn't try to sell me a plate of lightly toasted turds.

Still haven't seen any impressive games. From either party.

It's not a good change though. The kinect is an objectively worse method of input compared to a controller. So far every single kinect game except perhaps Dance Central has proven that point.

But the kinect 2 isn't the kinect 1... think more of what was possible on the Wii+, except with all your body parts and emotions.

But overall yes, I think it was Valve that said motion gaming isn't good because it lowers your sense of control of the character because you have a lot more control over your thumb than entire arm. Though Kinect 2's potential is still incredible, especially when used in tandem with a controller.

Well my number one reason is a lack of good games so am I in the clear for still hating it? I like Japanese games so I'm going to get a console they make games for.

It wouldn't surprise me if Microsoft actually do pay people to join popular gaming forums, to spread more Xbone marketing spiel, and to 'dissuade' people from hating it.

There have been a few of these people on this forum. (Though funnily enough, they always seem to end up getting themselves banned.)

Frankly, I wouldn't accuse you of working for Microsoft as you put it, that would be silly. I might consider making that accusation considering you are apparently determined to get everybody thinking as you do. As has been mentioned, there has actually been little, if any, negative Xbox stuff floating around, certainly not as much as there were a few weeks ago. The only other major source of it on this forum is, ironically, the last thread someone made telling us to stop hating it. So the insinuation seems to be that you're not telling us to stop criticizing it, or poking fun at it, or mocking it, because for the most part we haven't been for a while without provocation, And if you. Making threats defending it, it would have faded away by now. You literally just seem to be saying we should all get together and love it.

Frankly, it hasn't really been hateful atmosphere in a while. Many of Microsoft's previously protested policies have been reversed, so now those who still aren't planning to get it are largely feeling little more than apathy. More than a few people here just don't care about the console one way or another. They're not running around with torches, but they have absolutely no intention of buying it.

So, just to be clear, are you just saying we should all stop talking negatively about the Xbox One? Because you must have known that all this thread would do is result in even more negative talk about it. Or are you instead trying to convince us to change our minds completely and go out and buy it? Because, frankly, you have absolutely no right to dictate our spending choices, and even trying to do so is ludicrously pompous and egotistical.

Tremendously biased OP aside, there are plenty of reasons to be at least mildly turned off by the Xbone, many of which you deftly ignored out of hand with much skill, well done.

Also this needs a citation:

As far as I am aware this is an untruth/rumour.

In fact, I'll give a citation:

You might want to cite your sources there and define "hardcore" while you're at it, because otherwise statements like that just sound as if you pulled them out of your ass.

Steam does not have a 2 week check-in and I'm fairly confident in saying they don't have any check-in. I know from personal experience of never having to log in to Steam online for months on end.

You know, you don't have to work for Microsoft to blindly defend them... It's called fandom.

It is sort of entertaining to watch you stubbornly kicking the crub though.

Look buddy, the only places where I want people telling me how to feel about stuff is fake news and game reviews. I don't care about your words.

Ha, nice try person paid by Microsoft to spread good PR about the Xbone.

And the Kinetic is terrible because it's like the uncanny valley of input devices.

EDIT: I didn't even read the whole post about him working for Microsoft. Well, you drink their kool-aid long enough...
