A few posts ago I mentioned that I hated my job. After a quick, standard search bar check, I found this topic to be available.

[HEADING=2]So, what makes your job terrible? How do you deal with it?[/HEADING]

[small]For the sake of your co-workers, bosses and/or customers, please don't call them out by name here.[footnote]feel free to call the terrible equipment you have to work with by name though :)[/footnote]

Just use something like this (ex, Coworker A walks into the room and starts screaming at me for something I didn't do. Coworker B hears this and tells the boss. The boss starts yelling at me...etc...)
[/small]

Anyway, working at Pizza Hut isn't all that bad. It is just the people I have to deal with constantly.

One guy, let's call him Coworker A, is a completely anti-social jerk. No matter what I do, he'll come by saying "nice try newbie but you should consider doing it the right way" or something much more rude. I have a supervisor who hangs out with Coworker A and believes whatever he says about me because he's been working there for three years.

Then we have Coworker B, who does very little during the shift and expects me to pick up the slack. I'm still in training but that doesn't matter seeing as he "had a rough night last night". Every night is a rough night for him.

Also I have to deal with loud music that I can't stand but can't turn off due to my position as the new guy.

Now, I deal with it by just constantly biting my tongue and not saying inflammatory comments. I want to keep my job. When I come home, however, I just need some time alone. Away from other human beings.

As for the music... Well, I have no way of coping with it well. Asking them to turn it off politely failed utterly. No iPods or MP3 players permitted so I can't cancel out the trash with my own tastes in music. I'm considering getting earplugs... Or smashing the stereo...

But enough about my job and its extremely annoying and frustrating aspects. If you have a job with people or things involved that drive you insane, post it here.

Please be polite.

My job is terrible because it's in China, and I work 10 hours a day for $3 an hour. Yes, it is good enough in Chinese money, but once I come back to the states, it's almost useless.
And I cope with it, because I know the fact that it is an internship with a fantastic company, and once I get out of college, this will really help me find a job. Exploring China and having fun on the weekends is also a great coping mechanism.

I pack boxes with the trayliners for fast food restaurants. For seven hours a day.

It's not the hardest job, but it's so mind numbingly boring. Fortunately, the people I work with are really awesome, and I only have a month left, and then back to school.

I work with kids. Sometimes they have special educational needs, either something really harmless like Aspergers, to completely blinking retarded. (As in will go from happy to murderous rage in 3 seconds)

Sometimes I work with 50+ kids at one time, between the ages of 4 and 16.

I hate it. I hate kids. They are evil, petty, fickle, loud, demanding, bothersome and rude. Their parents are even worse.

I deal with it by murdering one child per week and hiding them in a boiler room. (No, I don't, I'm nice really. I deal with it by counting the disgusting amount of money I'm paid to do it! ^_^ )

Yeah that sucks. I used to have a job that I hated. I worked my ass off to further the business, and still got no recognition. I remember the final straw was when my direct boss left and recommended me for her position to her boss. Instead of promoting me for all my hard work they decided to hire a complete retard from outside the company to take the role... and then expected me to train her!!! I pretty much told them to go fuck themselves and left them with no one to train the new manager. Now I have a new job doing exactly what I want to do and it's awesome!

I work at a waterpark. My actual job? For about 2/3 of my shift I sit out in the sun and stare at the cars. I live in a desert, that's not fun. I'm not even security, I can't do anything, I just call it in to the actual security guys. The other 1/3 involves sitting out in the sun and dealing with the (not so) occasional idiot. How do I deal? Bikinis. Daydreaming. Or fall into one of the pools at lunch or at the end of the shift.

I work for United Parcel Service, or UPS. Every day as an hourly I moved about 180,000 pounds worth of boxes. There is little to no communication, and it is generally about 20-30 degrees hotter than it is outside, except in the winter.

5 years later as a supervisor, I have to deal with criminally incompetent and malcontented people on a daily basis. Also, I take full accountability for little to no reward.

Oh yeah, and I started at $8.50 an hour. After five years I was up to 12.62 an hour, working about 20 hours each week. That translated out to about $200 at my ending pay rate.

Basically two or three managers act like children 90% of the time and the boss makes up the most retarded rules ever. Also, they've been firing a bunch of awesome people.

I'm going away in a year, so I deal with my job by telling myself that whenever things get rough.

I work at a theatre. whihc means I have to do with YOU! The public! Who cant be bothered to lift so much as a finger to throw away the S&%# they buy from our concession. PLUS, I have to deal with:

-kids
-drunks
-teenagers
-adults who think tehy are better then me becuase I'm only 18
-Adults who act like their five year old children
-men
-women
-People who sneak in food then dare to tell me i cant throw it away or sneak in and dare to say i can throw them out.

I also have to clean up Crap (literally), puke, pee, garbage, chew (which is just... ew)), Masculine/Feminene Materials, and the food people leave everyhwere or spit at me.

In fact, I can give you a story. One day, I was standing iwth a few co workers cause we didnt have to clean a movie or do bathroom checks for almost an hour. This guy who's in his 30s walks by, sees us doing nothing and says, "oh, i gotta try this." He then eats some of his food and spits it at us, becuase quote, "we didnt move fast enough to clean it up.

Oh well, I guess free movies/popcorn/drinks/movie posters and standees make up for it.

There is almost nothing good about my job other than I know how to drive there and it's easy.

Actually the fact I have to drive there is a pain in the arse.

I work in a hospital, doing patient watch for a security company, i get to deal with the...
people recovering from surgery who might be under the effects of medication that makes them... unstable and need to be watched. The confused, forgetful, sometimes agressive, paranoid, elderly. Last but not least, the younger "i know everything better than you, i know more about what i need than you, you can't keep me here even tho it's glaringly obvious that i need help" crowd, and everything in between; from general surgery recovery, to the strapped to a bed, cursing, swearing, and spitting people in the psych ward.

It's a 12 hour shift, for which i get to sit in a chair and keep an eye on the patients, and do nothing else, the pay is meh, the co-workers... meh, my supervisor...meh.

However, the hours i work give me alot of days off, and i have never seen so many DAMN fine looking nurses in one place; gives me something to enjoy for a 12 hr shift.

I used to live the hobo life. Very boring and lazy, having to do favours for family to get cash. At least my annoying job brings me money that is worth it. I'm glad I have a job now but it is only cause of the money.

Being able to spend cheddar and not worrying about running out is a good feeling indeed.

I work for Starbucks.

Really, it's not the worst job in the world. I just work with people who can be completely idiotic. And the general public is kind of shit. And my boss is gone for the next five weeks because he's managing another store as well as ours; we have an assistant manager from the store down the road covering for him, and she has no idea what the hell she's doing, especially with scheduling.

(Take my shift tomorrow, as it's from 10 am - 4 pm. What the hell, boss? That isn't a viable shift, it's just 6 hours of grunt work. Thanks.)

Naaa na na na na na na na na na Supermarket Pharmacy
OT: I get the 'still living with your parents' life. It's okay, but the pay is shit and you have to be fairly tolerant of your co-workers.

My current foreman has a serious case of 'Little Man's Syndrome', and will attempt to have screaming matches with me after he's given me instructions, I've followed them, and then he's gone and done something to fuck the process up.

Oh, and he's derided the 11 years I've worked in this trade, and the quality of my apprenticeship training, but didn't have the balls to do it to my face.

I have two jobs. I know, I'm an idiot, but I need the money.

My main job (by main job I mean the one I have the most shifts with) is teaching gymnastics. It's fairly straight forward most of the time, I instruct two people privately and do group coaching for younger kids aged 9-11. I enjoy it, every shift.

The other job is working at a daycare. We take kids from 0-4 and some days it's hectic to say the least. I've had to clean up poo from the floor before. That's the worst it gets.

How do I deal with it? Well, at the end of the day I enjoy it. I am good with kids and I like to work with them, there are very little times I get frustrated or stressed. Add in the fact I'm getting paid for it and I get through 90% of days just fine.
