Two reasons really, its the name of am album i really really love alongside the other artists work(yeah silly I know, but then I was like that when I was 14).

The second reason, which was completely accidental was when i found out the sexual slang meaning of it. Well, it suits me, man lover that I am.

I chose mine because the original name I wanted was taken. I thought chromewarrior sounded cool and then I add XIII (13) to just make it different. Now it's sorta stuck with me.

Reaperman= Great book, and I love the Grim Reaper.

Wompa= To quote Urban dictionary: Cincinnati/Columbus vernacular; slang, adj. describing a person, place, thing, situation, event, or idea that is highly upsetting or unfavorable; slang, n. a person, place, situation, etc. that is highly unfavorable or upsetting. derived from the Latin, "wompus," meaning: "To bear curly purple hair and goggles." Sometimes incorrectly spelled "wampa."

And I liked the sound of it.

When I made my first yahoo mail account, gamebrain89 was what I chose, and I have just kept using it. makes me wonder why I didn't use it for my gamertag.

My name comes from a couple cool sounding words that were used in Digimon...I came up with it like 6-7 years ago.

Birth defect left me with a slightly irregular bottom jaw, the overbite from hell.
Jay Leno has nothing on my chin.
So, barracuda sort of fit.
J and L are my first and last initials.

My first time playing GTA IV online at a friends, I found a glitch when playing against one guy, which caused the bus I was in to become invunerable.

So I shot out the tires, and drifted in front of him, mocking him horribly

for two hours

I did not pick this name. I wish I could have picked my own name, then it would have said:

Aurelia [mail icon here]
Muckraker

[picture of a cute tiger here]

But instead, my parents chose "Mariena".

Get it yet? No? Damn, I'm supposed to be the blonde one here! It's my first name.

Morpheus, the greek god of sleeps and dreams(well, maybe hypnos is the god of sleep)

I was always intrigued by the world of dreams, a place where anything goes, you are free to do as you please. You are anything, and anything can happen. Thats why I am such a big fan of escapism(hence my love of gaming, movies, most literature and the power of imagination). I am also a mythology nut and since my name and the nickname both begins with the letter "M" so it seemed like a good idea. Also, My friends kept calling me by this name so it just stuck.... Also, I watched the matrix and loved that bald guy with sun glasses because he reminded me of a black joe satriani.

Oh and the Leet? Easy to remember since most of my accounts use this name, my friends made me use leet and When I was younger, I thought it looked cool.(not anymore, though)

Actually mine comes from the name of a comic book character I made when I was a freshman in high school. It was a pretty pathetic little comic, my first real attempt to draw even, and at the start it was all stick men. As it progressed they resembled human shapes. By about my sophomore year of high school, some of my friends who read the comic started referring to me as Bazooka Bob jokingly, even though the word "Bazooka" or any variation of the name "Robert" is in my actual name. The name just sort of stuck at that point, and has become many of my various user names, or some variation of it has if someone else hasn't already claimed it on the site I'm using it on.

Virgil, your name wouldn't happen to be based on the character Virgil Hilts from The Great Escape, would it?

I secretly have a passion for larynxes (or larynges, if you're spell check, which I sincerely hope you are not). I'm also lying.

yeah, I did it once upon a time, and even then I got boo'd.

anyway, my name on this forum is so old that I wouldn't be able to tell you where it came from. I used to have some bullshit story for how I got it, but it's just something I liked the sound of as a kid, and I kept it with me for almost 15 years now.

my other two major online names I do have some better stories for. Dirkin was the name of a D&D character (gnome mage) that I brought over to a MUD called Darkover. I played that for 8 years, so Dirkin is fairly ingrained into me, as I was referred to as Dirkin or Dirk for so long.

Another major one (my Gamertag for instance) is Volent, which came from a pair of elves I made with my GF on WoW. She was Maleve, and I was Volent, and together, we were Malevolent (I thought it was pretty cool at the time).. I've kept it around as I like the name.

Another one I use on some other forums is Nelo, which came from Devil May Cry (In fact, it used to be NeloAngelo, but I removed the Angelo, because people online are stupid and think "angel" automatically means girl.)
