I have a tendency to lean one way or another or even lean back when I'm taking fire and moving from side to side. I'll also move my head around like I'm actually there looking for stuff. I don't do it on purpose, but I realize I'm doing it sometimes. At least I don't feal the need to talk to the NPCs or read my speech choice out loud like one of my friends does. He gets into games a little too much, I think, but to each their own I guess.

During loading screens I'll almost obsessively press every single button on my controller and then rotate the thumbsticks, usually in this sort of order.

LB, RB, LT, RT, X, Y, B, A, Back, Start, then both sticks clockwise.
Never knew why, just a thing...

Also, in RPGs I tend to find myself talking as my character would to my companions, making plans, formulating attack patterns, discussing objectives...Sigh.

I pick at the skin of my top lip where it starts to cruve and you get that little bulge when i think or am in a stressful sitution. but i do that outside playing games too.
Same here.

I also think "That must've taken forever to mine for" when seeing a skyscraper after a Minecraft marathon.
Hunh... and i thoguht i was alone. Tell me, does your lip skin look scarred where you do it?
A bit, usually only if I chew the hell out of them though. They heal very fast.

Oh, and if there's one thing that the Escapist has taught me, it's that you're never alone.
Cool.

Oh, another weird thing i do is before every game i play, I always rotate the joysticks clockwise half way, fully counterclockwise, then make a vertical line up to down. Then make one from center to right then to left.
Strangely enough, I do that too.

I also (only on consoles) scratch my index fingers on the trigger buttons.
weird. Id o that, but i use the part where it rests in your palm, the curved part, where the screw hole is.

When I'm playing a game where none of the characters are voice acted, I do my own.

Mostly been the Ace Attorney series, but I've also done it while playing some of the Final Fantasy games as well.

That's a good spot too. I also connect certain songs to games, like playing Bioshock makes me think of Garbage's "I think I'm Paranoid" because my brother was playing that on Rock Band one time when I was playing Bioshock.

same i hate hearing other people hile gaming. like my dad is deaf and an idiot(he turns up the tv cause he cant hear it, the tv gets so loud it distorts, so he turns it up more) so he listens to tv really loud near by plus my brother plays games right next to me with speakers.

One of my friends has to stand while playing any game on a console. It's pretty odd.

I really dig into my seat. As time goes on I sink lower and lower into my chair, and eventually I end up on the floor using the the chair as support for my back. Not sure why, I guess it just has to do with my focus or something.

I also prefer little or no light*, and prefer to be hidden (wow, not doing much for our look am I?) and now that I think about it that my be why I sink so low into my seat. I also mutter to myself about objectives and such, though I mutter to myself a lot so it doesn't really count.

Oh and if there's little or no backstory to a game, I create my own. With war games in particular, I tend to think about the aftermath of the war your fighting (if it's a fictional conclict, that is) and I'll add my own story elements to a game too.

*I'm not some basement dwelling sun light hating goblin or anything, it's just that I feel more comfortable in the dark. And I focus better with no light.

When playing shooters I listen repeatedly to Yo Yo Ma plays paganini caprice 24 on cello [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgAurilSDXQ] At a level where I can still hear what is going on in the game, it seems to make me focus more.

It have been remarked that, That is weird

I tap triggers on pads, and i drum awd on my keyboard during almost every loading screen.

I sometimes sing parody versions of songs with lyrics i've just made up. Though thats something i do away from gaming too.

Also i'm guilty of talking to myself, and the screen. "Don't do that!" "Oh, its you." "ah there you are." those sorts of things. Caught myself doing it while on FO:NV

Sometimes when I win a huge fight in a JRPG I'll jump up and do some cheesy kung fu shadowboxing. Don't ask why, but I only feel the urge to do this while playing JRPGS. ><

After playing Fallout New Vegas for 41 hours straight I walked over to my kitchen to cut up some steak and I stood there waiting from the thing saying "A to Take Knife", after 10 mins I was wondering, "CRAP WHAT IF IT TURNS RED?! THEN HOW WILL I CUT MY STEAK IF IT'S CONSIDERED STEALING?!"
yeah, I often have HUD elements pop into my vision, or wait for them to appear. Heck, when I look at someone, they get Assassin's Creed style targeting around them. This maybe a sign of game addiction, if so, who cares? it's kinda' neat!

Sometimes I like to give a running commentary (nothing serious or a kind of geeky DM commentary, like in Fable 3 the other day I was on a quest to rescue a little girl from wolves and I kept saying things like "Kid can wait, must dig"...or in Half Life 2 I once played through commentating as though I were a Russian delivery boy) or interact with the characters physically as though I were there like winking and talking.

In games like Dragon Age and KotOR. Where your character can respond to another, I always read, aloud the response I pick.

It gets really weird in Dragon Age, because I actually found myself doing it in an english accent.

Depends on the game I guess. I listen to music most of the time except when I'm playing a story heavy game. For online games like WOW and TF2 I tend to curse loudly and often. Oh, and during cut scenes I like to sharpen my knives. I don't really know why, it's just a soothing thing to do while I ruminate.

I sometimes make list of shit I have to do in games with a lot of side-quests and extra activities. I'm such an organized loser.
