Hello, my fellow escapist Wii owners. I've encountered a problem with my Wii, wherein it won't play discs. It seems to have trouble spinning them, but I can't be so sure...
I've tested it on Skyward Sword, Brawl, and Mario Galaxy, and they all get this error message that says to remove the disc and turn off the console. Brawl has a different error message, or rather, the same error message but with a green screen instead of a black one. I've gotten the message with Brawl in the past and temporarily fixed it by cleaning the lens on the disc reader.
I've not tested it on a Gamecube game yet, and it can still play virtual console games just fine. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Hard to say test a few more discs but it sounds like the dvd/blu-ray/whatever drive is broken. Had such with my past PS3, everything on the HDD worked fine.. but no Blu-ray movies, no games no nothing.

And that is the case of the broken dvd/blu-ray player. You might have a case like it. Time to claim guarantees if you have them. And if they are expired [here in europe they are at least 2 years] then call Nintendo. They might fix it for you.
