Why not sell your DSL and use the money to buy a 3DS? It's probably not gonna be above 200$, and if it is, most likely only just. This IS Nintendo we're talking about, half the reason their consoles sell is because their the cheapest one on the market. At least from all the Wii bashing I keep hearing.
Because I like my DS Lite? The DS Lite kicks ass because you can not only play DS games on it, but GBA games. This is what I find funny. They've made like 2 new DS's since the DS Lite (The DSi and the DSi XL), and in addition to all the useless innovation they've brought, they got rid of the GBA slot. Why? I found it awesome to be able to play DS and GBA games on my Lite, so why did Nintendo think it would be a good idea to take that slot away?
And yeah, I think it'll retail for at least $200. Why? Well, let's look at the DSi. How much did that retail for originally? $170? $180? Well, then they throw 3D in there, and considering the only purpose of 3D in the entertainment world is so that the companies can charge us more money, I think $200 is an optimistic estimation.

Back on Topic: Eh, the Wii hasn't had great 3rd party support. Most of their "good" stuff has been first party. Other than Wario Ware and Raving Rabbids (One of which is first party...), not much jumps to mind.

I am looking for new games to play on my wii. Besides the obvious contenders, what are maybe some unheard of titles worth checking out?
Is this a trick question? Maybe a joke? There are no "hidden gems" for the Wii. All titles except the 1st party games are shovelware and the 1st party titles are just recycled ideas.
While there aren't a ton of third party games that are on-par with first party Wii material, there are still some more than worth getting, especially seeing as many good third party Wii games that come out get hyped but don't sell a lot of copies.

The first and foremost is Madworld. I'll admit the controls aren't perfect and the gameplay might be a bit too 'arcade-y' for some peoples tastes, but the overall package is worth it, especially since you can get it for next to nothing now.

The obvious other candidates are No More Heroes, House of the Dead: Overkill, BoomBlox, Zack and Wiki and World of Goo, all of which I have enjoyed. There are others I haven't mentioned and if that's because I haven't played them yet, but you really can't go wrong with the ones mentioned above

Games for Wii I recommend:

Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (Best DBZ simulator ever, with over 140 characters!)

Madworld (Not bad, but unique and fun. GREAT commentary!)

Naruto Shippuden: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 (Don't let the Naruto skin fool ya, this is a fun and fairly well balanced fighter!)

No More Heroes 1 and 2: Desperate Struggle (fun hack 'n slash games with good humor and unique bosses)

Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers ( Very good hack n slash, lives up to it's title. Very underrated Wii game.)

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Fun Star Wars game, and the lightsaber combat in here is just really fun.)

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (This game gets a lot of flak for no reason. It's got great real-time combat, you can capture and train monsters, and the main characters are really well done)

Tatsunoko vs Capcom (Best, possibly only, 2d fighter on Wii, hands down. If ya like anime, half the cast will endear themselves to you and make you watch their respective anime, and you'll love it. Marvel vs Capcom 3 is using a modified version of this game's control scheme.)

Agreed. This is a very solid budget type title and should be tried if it can be found for the right price. The motion controls give a good feeling of being in the action even if they can be a bit tricky to get used to.

Trying to think of titles that haven't been mentioned:

Little King's Story - Very highly rated and fun game in the Pikmin/Overlord style that was overlooked by many people.

Endless Ocean - Calming underwater collect 'em up.

Boom Blox - Entertaining 3d puzzle game that uses motion controls well.

Zombie Panic in Wonderland is an great downloadable game. I just recently got it and it's fun, if a bit short and easy.

Bully: Scholarship Edition, Another great sandbox;

Red Steel 2, Very fun swordplay;

Dead Space: Extraction, Best light-gun game ever;

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Played it last night and it creeped me out (in the good way), a first for me and I've played many horror games.

Klonoa: Wii

That game is amazing. I loved it on PS1, and all they changed was the graphics...
For those of you who know of the Klonoa games, the Wii version is a remake of Door to Phantomile.
