Wii Selections

I tend to know this board's general opinion towards the Wii (IE, not good). However, there must be love for it from some of you, so it can't hurt to ask.

My Wii library is looking a little dry. Right now, I only have SSBB. I've played plenty of games for the Wii, but beaten them and taken them back (usually after a couple of completions). So I've been looking to expand it a bit.

I was looking at getting The Conduit, Tales of Symphonia or maybe even the new Punch-Out, but I can't really seem to make up my mind. Any suggestions?

(Other than the smarmy "Get rid of the Wii" remarks.)

Get The Conduit. It was pretty fun, and worth it. Honestly, I hate the Wii. It is possibly the biggest dust collector in my house, but I did slightly enjoy the Conduit.

I switched on my wii for the first time in 3257893275897 years today to play MadWorld.

But I'ld say rent it. It's good but I'll be bored in a few days...

The Conduit, Madworld, Mariokart and Super Smash Bros Brawl(if you plan on playing with other people). If you like RPGs, get Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, or Fire Emblem Path of Radiance(Path of Radiance is a gamecube game.)

I haven't played it yet, but metroid games almost always deliver (excluding the DS games).

It's good (further review reveals it's about 50% fan-game but it's still pretty good)

I would reccomend Super Paper Mario if you haven't already played it/bear some hate for it.

Man I have some hate for that game just because I got right to the end of the game and then because of a fucking massive glitch couldn't finish the game.

The only game I've got that holds my attention for more than five minutes is No More Heroes... but I think it might be one of those games that you either love or hate. Worth a rent though, it sorta feels like the sort of thing you have to experience at least once.

Few days? I got bored with it after a few hours... it is a fun game and everything, there just isn't much to do, it is always the same... Metroid Prime 3, Umbrella Chronicles, and No More Heroes are some pretty good ones, or at least I liked them... Then again, I really didn't like SSBB much... I loved the first two, but SSBB was just kinda meh to me...

You know, it would help if you gave some kind of list of the games you've already rented and played so I'd have a better idea of what to recommend.

If you've already owned/played certain FPS games on the 360/PS3/PC, The Conduit probably won't keep you interested for long. Otherwise, it's a must-have if you're into first-person shooters. I haven't played ToSawn of the New World, but I hear it's a disappointment compared to the Gamecube original. Wii Punch-Out! is a decent game from what I hear, and you can get both the original and SNES Punch-Out! on Virtual Console now if you're interested in them.

I wouldn't buy Madworld. Rent it or buy it used so you can return it. It's fun for five minutes and then you realize that's all there is to the game. Mario Kart's not bad and Super Mario Galaxy. Super Smash is still the funnest Wii game in my opinion.

Okami is a fantastic game. Similar to Zelda but longer, less kid-friendly and with a better plot. I would most highly recommend getting it. Just be aware that the Wii port has a few problems with the controls, namely combat. It's easy enough to work around but it's there.

Prime 3 was pure gold. Though i wouldn't get it now, seeing as Prime trilogy is set for the end of the year, and it has wii-makes of prime 1 and 2 along with prime 3, so if you get prime 3 and like it (like me) you'll prolly want the wii-makes of prime 1 and 2, and then you'll just end up with two copies of prime 3.

If i'm totally wrong in thinking that they're releasing the trilogy as a box set then please, someone correct me and slap me with a dead fish.

Apart from that, get LoZ:TP, Madworld, No More Heroes, Mario Galaxy.

Thers a new LoZ brewing and Metroid: Other M as well.

- Okami (See: Zelda)

- RE 4: Wii

- The Conduit (if you don't have many fps for your Wii, the Conduit is great run and gun fun, and the multi-player component is good fun, not to mention Wii Speak, not to mention even playing the game on elevated difficulty is very hard, and there are three more difficulties above that to boot)

- Zelda: Twilight Princess

- Tatsunoko vs Capcom (when it comes out, I've got an import copy)

- Zack and Wiki

- Mad World (awesome, but make sure the art style doesn't bug you, it has for a lot of people)

- House of The Dead: Overkill (good fun if you like rail shooters, decent amount of content as well)

- Metroid Prime 3 (great entry to the series, a bit more action oriented compared to the others)

- Mario Kart Wii (great online component and fun to play)

If you are going to get ToS, get the original on GameCube, it's far better. And while it's a GameCube title, if you don't have it already get Eternal Darkness, easily one of the best games of last generation. Easily.

It's not really a proper sequel, more like a spin-off/expansion if anything. Tales of Graces is meant to be a proper tales title coming on the Wii.
