They had a year in advance so...yeah not something I'd be bragging about, but I suppose they need some good news after the constant barrage of doom and gloom.

so you managed to sell LESS than PS4 even thought your console is out for 3 times LONGER, and you boast about it? getting really desperate arent you?

Also notice the continuos ignorance of thinking consoles live in a bubble. they dont. there may be 3 horses racing around, but theres also the PC Car driving around and the Mobile plane flying by. Meanwhile handheld carriages managed to outrace the horses that seem more interested in biting eachother than racing.
Are you contractually obliged to bring that up in every one of these types of threads? Biting each other also? What the hell are you on about?

Since i am not a corporate shill, i am not contractually obligated to bring anything up.

I do however bring it up often because people, including some people posting here, keep forgetting that consoles arent the only thing related to gaming.

As far as biting each other, notice the so called "console wars" where the point is not to be better, but to be better than him.

What was the attach rate of the Wii? 5? The 360's attach rate was 6 during the month of its launch.

Attach rate of the Wii was 8.4, you can be excused for saying 7.4 by removing wiisports from the mix as that counts as one of the games but it wasn't sold with all of the consoles, but its still a lot higher figure that people like to parrot.

The idea that the Wii had a low attach rate is one of those things that idiots have been shouting for so long its become the "common truth" despite having no bearing whatsoever in facts and has been disproved multiple times by people in the know.

Its along the lines of "WiiU has no games", "WiiU is less powerful than the 360" and "UKIP is not a racist party"

Naming it the Wii-U sort of sealed its fate really, doomed to repeat the process its predacessor did. A big peak followed by a giant casm, the peak won't be as high as the Wii's, but I can easily predict an early death as the gap in technology spreads ever further with the advancing years.

Sure they got their foot in the door first to the party... but they didn't bring any food that people wanted to eat, and by the time they brought something in people wanted, the other geust's had arrived in swangkier car's.

But I'm just basing this assumption off of personal experiance, I had both the Wii and the PS3 and my Wii has been in a cupboard for HALF of the PS3's lifespan.
I'm sure they'll still be kicking years down the line if 'Did you know Gaming' is to be trusted.

So, criticizing Nintendo = supporting a hate group.

Seems legit.

Silly comparisons on your part aside, I would agree, actually, in docking them a point for wii sports, since they didn't actually "sell" any of those. I would also dock them another half point for WiiPlay, which has "sold" close to 40 million units (the numbers in the article you cited, despite claiming to be for December 2013, are actually for March 2012... oops). This "game" was bundled with a Wiimote and numbchuck. For five dollars less than it would cost to purchase these two items separately. If you were looking for these items, you would be silly NOT to buy it.

So, the lifetime attach rate of the Wii was 6.9.

I guessed and said 5.

A thousand pardons, sir, for my egregious error.

Also, that's still a bit less than one greater than the 360 attached in the first month of release, even with multiple redundant 360 units out there due to the RROD.

So guess what? That's still a relatively low attach rate.

Given that the Xbone sucks balls and the Wii U has the funnest games of the generation so far, this isn't remotely surprising.

Didn't you know? Criticizing something nowadays, or just being apathetic about it, means that you are the worst and that you hate the company that you are criticizing. It also means that you want that company to fail miserably and that you are calling for their doom, even if you never even say that said company is going out of business.
At least, that's what I've learned from the Gaming Forums over the last year and a half. XD
