... or at least I THINK the problem is wuth the Burn In Reduction.

Lately, since I've first played No More Heroes 2 to be more exact, the TV screen really darkens whenever I'm not touching the controller (which includes cutscenes) or when I'm pressing a buttom for a certain while. This is quite a bother, specially for games that are already dark, like Metroid Other M.

I keep turning the Burn In Reduction on and off, but it doesn't solve the problem.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Try it on a different TV. Also see if it's not just the Wii going into "screensaver".

LCD doesn't suffer burn in (any burn in they do have is extremely minor) so get a better tv boy.
That answer doesn't have anything to do with anything. Problem isn't burn in. Problem is that the screen goes dark periodically during play, as if "Burn In Reduction" was kicking in for some reason.

Check your Wii (I assume its the Wii) settings and Burn in is mostly designed for Plasma TVs.
Already did... thousand of times. Unless, of course, there is a hidden option somewhere. I'm thinking one of the System Updates made the Wii's screen burn-in reduction to kick in for some reason. Do you know if there is any way to restore the system to it's previous update?

Well, I'll try, but I don't think the problem is with the TV considering the Xbox works just fine.

Yeah, cathode ray tube TVs.

Due to the way they work, you can and will get burn in with them. It's why PC screen-savers were created.
Ah... got it.

Mine is LCD though. :)

To revert it, go into your Wii settings and there should be something for reloading the OS back to its original stock OS (the one first installed), you wont lose any data (I think) but it'll tell you all warnings etc before you do.

This used to happen to my friends xbox, it was because the xbox was old and overheating, it may be that you need to relocate your wii for better heat flow, or purchase a new one.
