Why won't FoxNews die? Really, why won't it?
Because too many stupid people believe the garbage they roll out daily.

Not that any other channel is much better. The history channel, discovery channel, etc aren't completely factual. At this point the only thing I watch is cooking for new ideas.
Tell me about, I sometimes feel History Channel should be called WW2 Channel...
Are we watching the same channel? Most of what they show here is of the paranormal variety, and the "is the holy grail in america" sort. Not that this invalidates any of your points...

... Well...

Fox news has always been about selling a particular point of view. Its in their best interests to protect their target demographics from anything that might give them a clear view of reality.

Not to mention, this article guarantees them lots and lots of hits.

I'm so glad i live in Norway. We don't have Fox news here so i can just laugh at their stupidity when i happen to come across an article like this one instead of getting annoyed.

But you should be annoyed, especially as someone not intimately connected to American society. Like it or not, Fox is one of the (if not the) most widely viewed/read source of news in the country. A country that is the still a first world nation, and the largest economy on the planet, and the country that has the largest stockpile of nuclear weapons. You should be very concerned that the citizens of that country are being sold such bullshit as actual news, and that these citizens then have a say in the next elections, which like it or not, can also impact you in some way.

Before I stopped watching it was Every Documentary on the American Revolution -> Every Documentary on the Civil War -> Every Documentary on World War I -> Every Documentary on WWII -> Every Documentary on Civil Rights -> Repeat

Dunno if it changed, I haven't seen anything besides cooking in almost 2 years.

History has been doing all this NOSTRADAMUS 2012 shit lately.

History International is now what History used to be: the channel you'd put on if you wanted to watch some nazis losin'. As Homer Simpson said, "ah, the Luftwaffe, the Washington Generals of the History Channel."

Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, look at anything Fox News has made. They are full of bias and don't research their topics.

Give them more credit than that, they research their facts... only, where a reputable news agency would research their facts with an intent of providing an even-handed representation of the issue that best reflects the interests of the all or the most heavily involved parties, Fox News researches their facts with an intent to spin them into one-sided half-truths whose ultimate purpose is to rile their ultra-conservative audience.

Reading the article, it seems that they are ragging on wikipedia for actually being fair and balanced, as opposed to biased in favour of Fox's opinions.

For those of you who didn't read the article some of the information in it is actually pretty interesting. for instance.

FoxNews.com also found hundreds of posts on BoyChat linking to Wikipedia pages, including "Child Sex Tourism," which provides detailed information on the different laws regarding child prostitution in countries around the world, and which links to newspaper articles that highlight ?hotspots? like a section of Mexico City where child exploitation is rampant and unchecked by law enforcement. Other recent links were to Wikipedia pages named ?Sexual Objectification," "Child Erotica" and ?Simulated Child Pornography.?

These Wikipedia articles, edited and shared by pedophiles, are nothing but guideposts to get them aroused, says Hemanshu Nigam, who headed security divisions at Microsoft and MySpace and now runs SSP Blue, an online security consulting firm.
But an investigation by FoxNews.com shows that pedophiles are gaming this system, using their message boards to rally opposition and to sabotage attempts by other Wikipedia community members to rid the online encyclopedia of pro-pedophilia content.
But Nigam, who is co-chairman of President Obama's Online Safety Technology Group and sits on the board of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, said it's not that complicated. "Almost every other social networking site has taken steps to clean up their sites, except for Wikipedia," he said.
?Pedophiles have campaigned to push their point of view that 'pedophilia is OK and doesn?t hurt children' on Wikipedia,? says Xavier Von Erck, director of the online pedophile watchdog organization Perverted Justice Foundation and Wikisposure.com, its offshoot project devoted to tracking pedophiles and pedophile activism on Wikipedia. ?This has been a problem since Wikipedia started.?
I don't know about you guys be in my opinion pedophiles can go fuck themselves. This is Foxnews though so of course rather than the content of the article the source is the discussion.

It isn't just Fox News by the way! One of the guys red flagging wikipedia WORKS FOR OBAMA I just thought you might want to know that before you just claim boo fox news you republican scum!

Is the story over sensationalized? Yea i think so but the facts taken without the narrative are news worthy.

If pedophiles are using wikipedia to promote themselves as "normal" or "harmless" someone really needs to crack down on it. It isn't normal and it isn't harmless, how many adults do i know that are messed up because of molestation that happened to them as kids.

But that is something that is up to wikipedia itself to make sure it doesn't host any illegal content, which it does. There is no story to report on, some idiots want to screw with something good, wiki stops them like they always do. Stuff like this isn't exactly a rare occurrence online, so what pray tell is there to crack down on?
