That's impressive, but then again...
In six turn I usually beat the crap out of 90% of the trainers anyway.
Yeah generally the stat boost moves aren't that great in the single player portion of the game but online they can be used to do amazing things. For example wiping an entire time of ubers with a magikarp (There was a better one I saw before where he won with tackle alone by using ninjask's speed boost ability and swords dance spam but I can't find it anymore)

I never use stat altering moves in Pokemon. They're completely useless. They never seem to give me an advantage and I end up wasting the turn and getting a whipping because of it. I always train my Pokemon for all out power and it's never let me down.

I played pokemon more for the exploration than the fighting, and then I discovered Ghost pokemon. Gastly and I, we fought dirty. I enjoyed using non-attack moves to toy with who ever was unlucky enough to try and fight me and if that failed I always had my god-level starter water pokemon (Exept in Yellow.) or my ultra tricked out Ninetails. The best attack ever: Lick, simply because of the hillarious image in my head; Wild Picachu Apeared! Gastly uses confuse, Wild Picachu uses Thundershock, Wild Picachu misses! Gastly licks Picachu and Picachu goes WTF dude!?

Well it depends on how you play and as already stated many times and will be many more times sharply ones are good normal ones are shit. The point is to use them when you know you can win easily or have opponent stunned so you can make future fights in that game easier. Ones that increase evasion and lower accuracy are killers.

Something like the build in post 14 with say Ingrain, Double Team, Flash and Giga drain with a Cacturne paired with a Tyrannitar can be a great way to waste opponents PP. Only real men use Pokemon like Wobbuffet and Magikarp.

Just bought Black today, I'm not much for the metagame so I'll ditch tail whip as needed.

Not played a PKMN game since Blue; the series has got crazy complicated now.

I have to say, I have just beaten the elite 4 on white, and the only times I used a stat changing move was by accident! The thing I find more pointless myself though are the in-battle stat-changing items. Not only do they waste a turn of yours, but sor some reason this will lead to the opponents getting 2 turns in a row!

Accuracy decreasing moves are the shit. I love me some sand attack. Also, harden and toxic is a good combination. For example, I once had a one-trick-Muk who severely poisoned opponents with toxic and then just hardened until they died. Not perfect but it worked against the final four pretty well.

I have on a extremely rare occasion used moves that inflict status effects exclusively (Thunder Wave etc.), but I never bother with stat modifiers they just seem like a waste of time to me, esp when your Pokemon can only learn 4 moves.

I usually only use moves like leer if I know the guy I have out is screwed, and I want to weaken the foe Pokemon for the next Pokemon I send out. Even then, these moves never last past level 20ish in my teams
