I think i would find plain Wild West MMO a little bit boring. Now if you would set it in steampunk wild west, like in that silly Wild Wild West movie, that i would play gladly. Because steampunk + anything = awesome.
I like that bit of fantasy/sci-fi in games.
Realistic settings are boring, i already went through them back and forth during my education. Also, early levels on Fallen Earth already looked like just western, emptiness everywhere, and you riding on horse, hitting things with wooden plank or crappy gun.
