"Raiden makes a very welcome return"? Okay honestly, who thought "yay, it's Raiden again!!!!"

Personally, I groaned when I heard he was going to be in it. And it wasn't a porno groan, but a groan of loathing.

don't say you didn't love him cutting up.... everything.

And his fights with vamp? amazing.

Forgive his past transgressions, he is great in this game.

I have a major complaint about this review; it sounds like it was done by a professional.

I HATE PROFESSIONALS! They are so detached from reality they will quite happily pick up any piece of bullshit, take one look at who makes it and then declare "It's by Bungie/Rockstar/Kojima! 10/10! Right, off to the pub..."

Don't get me wrong, I love this gamebut there are major flaws. I find that the "Stealth" element of the game can be summarised as "Don't kill any Rebels, and find a decent sniper spot." Many times it is more important to hide behind some meatshields than to actually sneak around a firefight... or alternatively (on Normal or lower Difficulty) you can just charge headlong through the gunfight and emerge on the far side pretty much intact!

MGS4 has some nice Stealth elements, but they are rare indeed. The storyline is excellent, but buried beneath a lot of needless dialogue. Some of the unexpected editions in this game are absolutely fantastic (not saying what they are, so as not to spoil anything) and when Raiden showed up it was enough to INSTANTLY change my opinion of him from whiney little douchébag to Grey Fox Reborn, but that does not change the fact much of the game feels unnecessary.

There are times where I have to watch an FMV where I'd rather be fighting, and conversely there are times I'd rather have sat and watched the game run me through instead of making me play a pointless and unenjoyable section for two minutes between the movie sections.

It's a nice review for a good game, but you seem to gloss over the flaws all too readily.
