fine beleave what you want to im done arguing this with you but id like to point out that theirs a chance the HANAR could make the cure just not have a good way to deliver it enter mordin.
You're saying the Hanar could develop a cure, then have a problem distributing it? And that Mordin would solve the distribution problem?

....I don't get it. Why would the Hanar have problems administering the treatment to cure Keplar's syndrome? Why would Mordin somehow solve this problem when he has nothing to do with it?

ok say they get a cure which would need to be deliverd at the genetic level. Who has done this before and is an estabished character? Mordin. Of course the hanar could have just made a cure and didnt need your help in which case it wouldnt be as good of a story nor would i particualy care about the characters any more.

Mordin deals with the genetics of a completley different set of species. There's no logical reason for him to know more about Drell on a genetic level than the Hanar that developed a treatment for Keplar's syndrome. Besides, how could they develop a treatment and not understand how to administer it?

Or they could just not cure Thane. That's always an option.

Given that lair of the shadow broker has shead some light on this, i think other upcoming DLC and Mass Effect 3 will be incredible, if you think of all the choices made so far. Still as everyone lived in my saves, i just want it to be intresting even if crew and teammates die and the reprecutions of their deaths in the universe.

I did not care for Thane but I don't hate him he is very ok guy thats about it I liked Miranda better because at least it seemed like the character was real. Thane feeled a little faked in a word no real flaws minus that condition that will kill him

I liked Thane. Even though I ended up not taking him that often[footnote]Since I was used to the Wrex/Garrus dynamic, I ended up with Grunt/Garrus in ME2[/footnote], he was still an awesome character.

Bearing Mass Effect 3 in mind I noticed the developers had a lot of outs for most of their characters should they not make the suicide mission ie The Taurian who betrayed Garrus, Thane's son, Mordin's protoge, Miranda's sister, Jayne - err I mean Kreeger - Tali's offsider, even the crack pot from the science facility where they experemented on Jack.

Assuming they too lived after the human typhoon that is Shepard has come and gone, my guess is that they would be potential candidates for the next 'Dirty Dozen'. Since Thane does not have long for this universe my bet is Kolyat will be released by C-sec in order to continue his dead Father's work and Aid Shepard against the Reavers.

No, I will not. He was my least favourite character. I disliked his voice, I disliked his outfit, I disliked his fish face, I disliked his combat skills (second most useless char in the game). Bioware tried, but he just didn't sit well with me and while I don't want to see him killed off or anything, I won't miss him much...

Not really.

He was okay, but not a favourite. His constant flashbacks struck me as being a bit silly.

For those of you who like him, bear in mind that there is nothing stopping Bioware from just writing his terminal illness away. "Oh hey, Mordin developed a cure. Awesome!"
Yeah, I agree. Thane seemed like BioWare's attempt at making an "Assassin's Creed type guy." Wasn't very interesting in my opinion.

Wow I'm kind of surprised at the Thane-love present. I disliked him a whole bunch. My wife loved him, but not me. I wish Thane had no active narrative and they spent more effort on Zaeed! Now there's a badass!!

But really, Thane constantly reminded me of Gene Hackman, don't know why. But whatever.

In closing, I will not miss Thane. (If he's dead or otherwise unavailable)

Hold up. Dont get me wrong, Thane was one of my favorite squadmates. If/when he finally goes down, I'll probably shed a manly tear if Bioware pulls it off right. But lets not forget he's not the only one with a short time left.

Mordin is somewhere around 30 in human years which, from my understanding, is pretty old in salarian. If there's going to be a significant time skip between ME2-3, he'll probably not be the most alive guy on the team either. I know Thane's got a small amount of time left, but Mordin's not too safe either.

Then again, we're talking about people who fly around in an intergalactic spaceship fighting lovecraftian horrors. No one on the Normandy has a good chance of surviving the series.

I thought it was odd for Bioware to kill a box-art character whos not the villain, especially a romance option to boot.
Really?

I believe that's Ashley on the right...
Hey, she's alive in my game.

Not me. I was expecting Thane to be cool as hell and one of my most used squadmates. When I met him in the game, I was kinda disappointed.

I hoped he would be a badass, classy assassin, instead of My wife! My son! I'm so full of angst!

He was certainly tied for my favorite new character. Mordin and Thane are the ones I really would like to return in ME3. And maybe Samara, but I have the feeling she's going to get back the Justicar stuff as soon as she can.

But I liked Thane. He wasn't the greatest as a romance character, but then, the ladies, or those who are inclined to enjoy the company of the masculine type, got shafted in ME2 imo. But as a character, he was interesting and complex.

I just wonder how much of the ME2 characters we'll even get to see in 3, seeing as how only 2 characters from ME were a major part of the game.

If BioWare has any respect for their story they won't do that. That would be a blatant retcon of Mass Effect 2. This illness is a major problem, and Hanar scientists have been working on finding a cure for years. Mordin suddenly conjuring up a cure would make no damn sense, even if he is incredibly smart.
Mordin himself doesn't have more than a few years left to live. most of the recruit-able crew was selected by the elusive man because of their disposable natures. i was more upset by inability to hunt and kill the elusive man. my character is a renegade... there is absolutely no reason for me to do any of this storyline and even if i decide it's worth my time, i've already decided that he was going to die first... where's the options to usurp the elusive man and take over the cerberus organization for your own ends!?

i killed her and took Morinth on-board instead. much better! Samara was a tool and i was waiting to kill her from the moment she was introduced.
