We could use a little more discussion here.
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.116827-These-forums-and-you-Forum-Posting-Guidelines Read these first. Other than that, I have no real opinion. I'm not a WoW player.

EDIT: May as well as in some discussion. If people like WoW so far, why wouldn't they like more WoW? I mean, I don't like it, but I'm sure that those who do will.

Encouraging players to make new characters is a very good thing in my eyes.

I'm assuming the grind of WoW is like the grind of D2. You grind for levels and loot, right?

I never understand stuff like repeated Boss runs in Diablo 2. You're only going for more loot...so that you can kill the Boss even faster?

I always made a new character when I got high level.

It will improve it ,yea, but completely fuck up the story.
But being able to play as a werewolf makes it up a bit.

No, as I said in my post before. The new expansions only ruin the game furtherly and make the gap between level 80 assholes and those below even bigger. The only one I approved of was the burning crusade. WoW has lost its unique gameplay that I loved.

Here's hoping they improve the voice acting a lot in the upcoming expansion (I don't want another repeat of the Maiden of Grief or the Blood Princes Keleseth and Valanar - their voice acting was terrible and the other bosses weren't much better in that regard), and that they make the end-game actually, y'know, FUN. I hope they take steps to reduce the sheer amount of number crunching, Elitist Jerking-off (har har) and general stupidity that currently plagues the end-game of WOTLK.

Bit of truth to this.

I fear that come Cata, the pre-85 stuff will get even easier, thus make lore more of a non-issue than it currently is. Blizz is trying to get the "Alliance v Horde" aspect back into the game, but at the same time encouraging players to hit 80/85 as such speeds that 90% of the popular reason don't really know WHY they favor one faction over the other. Hell, you can even have chars in both factions on the same account on PVP servers now, wtf is the point in having those servers again?

Cata will only succeed in tossing in 2 new races, fsking up lore that was, honestly, messed up a bit back when Draenei and Belves were released and changing 5-year-old landscapes in an attempt to make the game fresh and new-especially for folks who've played for 2-3 years[footnote]ugh...or oldies like myself who've played for 5 for some reason...[/footnote].

I'm looking forward to it a lot, I really wonder how Azeroth will look after the Cataclysm. And I'm especially excited about Uldum. Does anyone else remember those quests in Uldaman that lead to Uldum? Well, in that quest-line, the hologram near Uldum told you this:
Where are the plates of Uldum?
Watcher:
Several sets of the Plates of Uldum have been synthesized by the Creators for their expressed use. The Creators control the distribution of said discs for all complexes on this world. As such, Azeroth has been rescheduled for visitation, and therefore future discs may enter circulation at that time.

Existing discs have been fully distributed to those parties with appropriate security clearance.
Player:
Excuse me? We've been "rescheduled for visitation? What does that mean?
Watcher:
The Creators use visitation as a means to reestablish control over seeded worlds when forces, both external and internal, upset the matrix dynamics associated with it. Such tactics are not to be taken lightly when executed by the Creators.
And with the coming Cataclysm, which will certainly 'upset the matrix dynamics', will that mean that we'll see the Titans return to Azeroth?
That. would. be. AWESOME!!!

The only thing that I'm wary of is the changes in tanking and stats in general. I always found tweaking my gear to get the best result one of the most fun things to do on max level. And tanking just seems to be getting a bit too easy. Maybe they'll counter that by making the encounters a lot more exciting. We'l

Because any story that progresses is fucked up? Fictional universes don't stand still. Warcraft's universe is no exception.

Huh? That's the exact opposite of Cata's intention. It's meant to actually improve the experience more for people below the maximum level, giving them new and fresh content to play with. A decision I wholeheartedly approve, by the way.

Gameplay wise it'll probably be a hit

Storywise it fucks up everything to appease the idiots who think the whole game should be PvP because the game has "war" in it's name

I think the expansion will make WoW better than ever. The developers converse with the player base frequently and really take feedback seriously. Every expansion has been amazing and made the game better in almost every aspect. Simply by leveling a character one can see how the quests have gained depth over time as they quest from classic wow zones to Burning crusade zones to Wrath of the Lich King zones.

I'm really looking forwards to Cataclysm. Blizzard has been making great games for as long as I've known them. I have no doubt Cataclysm will be an amazing experience that pushes the MMO Genre to greater heights.

I like that they're changing it up, Certain parts of the old world were beautiful but dull as a butter sandwich, Azshara being a big one. But now they've seen which areas need alot more work and they're making it work. Also with changes to leadership bring new changes to how certain things are done. They also keep adding to the lore and I'm going to enjoy seeing everything that happens.

And FINALLY certain parts of the lore will become explained, like the Worgen and Gillias and Uldum, I always went out of my way to do those quests but the way they just end always left me unsatisfied. Now we'll have answers and I couldn't be happier.

It'll improve some stuff sure but imo raising the max levels just raises the amount of imbalance between classes. I thought they had it about right in BC but they made some really overpowered shit in WotLK. Turned into far more of a rock paper scissors game in PVP, with the ret pallies being nigh unbeatable and healers being nigh unkillable without very specific builds or excellent team work (which is unusual in your general BG). In PVE it gave some classes retardedly crazy good and easy tanking, and in a lot of cases made some classes have redonkulous dps over others - for instance rogues should be 5-10% higher than, say, fury warriors but often the gap is significantly higher.

I'm going to pretend it doesnt exist so i dont try to buy it n___n
It's good to see them trying to re-use old areas which no one goes to anymore and fixing stats system. I dont think this patch will attract new players though.

Just for levels, Loot is picked up off of dead enemies, most of which is vendor trash and the bosses do carry quite a few diffrent weapons and peices of armor that dropped randomly with each run (Encouraging people to run the same dungeon more then once.) That said, a player could also buy armor and weapons from an auction house or make it themselves with their professions.

OT: I think it will be an improvement, the 2 new races will let people customize on their play styles and be able to explore Azeroth through the eyes of a diffrent race. Plus the visual effects just look plain awesome and it's gonna make the first 60 levels a lot more interesting.

It will be exactly the same as the old WoW.

Rep Grinds
Gear Grinds
XP Grinds

PvP will still blow. And CC in PvP will still be OP. It may be fun to level in the new levels again. But lets be honest. The moment the majority of people max again they will quit. I know I would.

I don't particulary like the land changes but they want to do that, so I can't do nothing, but I do like the look of flying mounts, and the goblins look cool, don't care much for the worgen as I don't really like werewolves, but meh, I'm a minority so I'll just trudge along with it
