Haven't CoD sales been on the decline in the last couple games?
Blops 2, the most recent title, was the record GTA V just broke. Probably not a decline.

I'm betting this one does worse. Splitting the base with next-gen consoles? Yeah. Bit of a problem.

I think COD Ghosts will probably be more successful than GTA V. Now, I'm not saying that it'll make as much money as GTA V, or have as many sales, but considering how absolutely massive GTA V's development budget was (over $250 million), I'd say that COD Ghosts will probably be the bigger success in comparison of the ratio of budget required for the sales earned.

I don't think it will.

GTA5 was anticipated ever since GTA4 was release (5 years later?), meanwhile we get spoon fed the same old yearly CoD sequels with the same engine and different "setting" and yet the sales are big every damned year.

CoD may not reach GTA5 total sales, especially if they (I hope) release the game on PC and next gen.

Yeah thats basically what I was getting at personally I really dont like GTA (or rockstar in general as I don't think they make very good games but thats just me) [..]
Not to sound like a rabid Fanboy or anything, but mind explaining this? Just I've been playing Rockstar games since GTA San Andreas (The GTA Series, Bully, Red Dead Redemption) and I find they make pretty damn good games.

OT: To be honest, I think the only way both series can go is down at this point.
800 Million in 24 hours? How the Hell do you top that? Even if more people buy consoles next generation then in this one, that is a MASSIVE number to beat.
? what mind explaining why I dont like Rockstar not at all its just I find their games devoid of fun they seem so intent on creating a game world they forget to create a game.

No doubt you and many other disagree which is fine but for me I find they make games that fail to draw me in or engage me in any way. I played GTA 1 3 vice city and 4 to at least some degree (I liked 1 and gave 3 a hell of a chance especially) but 3 really killed it for me it should have been awesome and instead I just found it tedious and boring as hell.

I also tried manhunt and that was terrible while red dead redemption was similarly unengaging to me. Their table tennis game was surprisingly good but im not a fan of table tennis and I havent played Bully.

Yeah basically not a fan I dont think they make engaging games many others disagree and many agree with me, same old same old.

Profits? As in, money they'll actually make?

Probably. Between map packs, a much much cheaper budget (seriously, there's no way that CoD comes close to the budget of GTA 5), and Elite sales (or was that goin free?) I foresee that at the end of the day CoD will make more money than GTA 5.
