Imagine if instead of consoles you just had attachments, which you could connect to the back/front of the computer and it would allow you to play console games on it.
That way, you would not need a new console every few years in order to match the ever evolving PC graphics.
emulators. hell, a semi-competent programmer can rig up a boot to the console's OS and launch the ROMs from there.
Then why are there no working PS3 emulators?
1. the console has almost no exclusive titles that (important part here, please read) would make an emulator for it worth it.
2. why would you want one? want to know the PS3's main selling points over Xbox? Free online service (*cough*, erm, for now), and being blu-ray/music/home entertainment system, which PC's already provide the ability to do so, if not a quick blu-ray drive can remedy that. the PS3 is a gaming system with an emphasis on third party support (because we all know about sony's masterful programming and art skills) combined with the ability to use other media, you know, just like a PC can?
