My computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce GT 540 Graphics card, and the system requirements
[Recommended, not minimum] for a game I'm planning to get suggest a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570.

Is my current card enough, or will I have to upgrade?

Well.. Gt 540 is not really built for gaming but may I ask what's the name of the game that you want to play? And at which resolution?

I have a GT 540M and it runs games just fine. Hell, it even runs Crysis.

This is a pretty helpful guide:

Well Gt 540M and Gt 540 is two different gpus..

And again what kind of resolution are you playing crysis on and at which fps?

since Im pretty sure my on board gpu (Sandy bridge) could run crysis on 640x480 with lowest settings and somewhere around 10-20fps.

This website is pretty handy for finding out what you can run on your machine, though sometimes you can push it farther than they say you can.
