I know a 12 year old who has been involved in some pretty..adult..stuff. And she isn't the only one like that.
My friend also had a 6 year old call him a "F---ing Gay".
Not only does society slowly get worse, it's starting younger too.

Teach children discipline, it's a must.
That's the thing, as much as I hate to say it (Still being technically a child), children need to be told what to do. The fact is, they'll draw their influence from somewhere or someone anyway, even if it isn't you.TheDean said:I just don't see what gives me the right to tell nyone else what to do. Last week a 12 year old tried to steal my phone.Darth Pope said:Jesus, when I was in elementary school no one would have known what that word meant. The Maddest March Hare said:I've already started ranting about how the younger generations are getting worse and worse, and I'm only 18.

Every "modern" advancement (sans the printing press, but thats only because the churches liked the idea of being able to print mass quantities of their favorite book), since the dawn of time, has been scrutinized and called the work of the devil. This isn't a new concept, and the cycle won't ever be broken. Why? because we're human. We don't like what we don't understand, and at a certain point in all of our lives, a new innovation will make itself apparent, and we won't understand it. The best we can hope for is that a few of us will retain a sense of open mindedness into our golden years, but that won't in any way soften the hate. Call it a flaw if you want, but remember, it's the social stigma that inevitably gets the ball rolling. Adolescent rebellion, in every case you mentioned, was what caused more people to flock to the trend, thus killing said stigma.TheTygerfire said:What do novels, comic books, television, Elvis, pro wrestling, heavy metal, MTV, the internet, and video games all have in common? At one point they were all considered the lowest forms of entertainment and the mental poison that would send civilization into a downward spiral of anarchy, violence, and sexual debauchery.
The other thing that they have in common? it never happened. Novels no longer were banned, television became educational, Elvis shook his hips to superstardom, and video games are nothing more than a scapegoat with which teens use to blame their actions.
What shocks me is that every generation doesn't seem to learn from their past. The people that scoffed at the thought of Elvis and Comic books ruining their minds grew up to be just as normal as anyone else, but then would turn their attention to heavy metal and it's "Satan worship". I'm shocked that no one stepped back and realized that this is the exact same thing that happened to them 20-30 years ago, and promptly stopped the crusade.
But again, nothing major happened from all the screaming and, also just as before, the heavy metal generation grew up to be normal, proper, and anti-video game....what? Again, what's the difference? You were cut down for listening and enjoying something that was harmless to the level headed or sane person, and then turn around and do the exact same thing as before.
What people need to realize is that they have no idea what the younger generation is thinking off. I'm a strong advocate of a little concept called PARENTING. If I thought something wasn't appropriate for my child, instead of making a public outcry against it's vary exsistence, I'd steer him/her away from it until I thought they were old enough. I'm learning for the past generation in that making a public outcry over something makes you seem like a complete idiot who's out of touch.
Couldn't have said it better.FinalHeart95 said:People always need something to blame, as they are perfect and do no wrong. This cycle will unfortunately continue, because people never take the blame for anything, and that's not changing any time soon.
Maybe they go hand in hand. The more tech we get, the less we have to work, the lazier we get the less we feel the need to learn.Assassin Xaero said:This generation makes me sad... technology seems to be getting better, but people seem to constantly be getting stupider...
