Will Smackdown vs Raw 2010 be the best wrestling game ever?

Id like to think so but I dunno, the story creator and caw's look great but
its still that smackdown engine they've milked the past 10 years.. Ok so SvR 2009 was
defo a step forward and added a much need "weight" to the game but its still heavily flawed..

I think maybe No mercy on the n64 was the best if not SvR2009 but its a genre that need an overhaul gameplay wise..

What's other people's thoughts on this and wrestling games in general?

I think that the Wrestling game that doesn't exist is the best kind.

That license really needs to get out of the hands of THQ. They've been unforgivably lazy with the franchise. Having some nostalgia for wrestling, I usually get a short rental worth of kicks out of CAW and career mode, but the fighting itself is always broken and frustrating in the extreme.

I dunno man, it's hard to top Smackdown vs Raw 2008. That game was just so much fun and even had the WWE legends along with a huge roster.

I played one match for 6 hours straight.

6. Hours. One match.

It was the most fun I've ever had playing a wrestling game

Here Come the Pain was the best, I don't know about 2010, it does have a lot of potential, just trying not to let myself get drawn into the hype, because hype damages the SvR series more than the lazy developer.

SVR 2010 could be amazing, so long as they do it all right!
Problem is, some reversals etc just don't animate well, other problem is the roster. Oh sure, they always have main eventers etc, but what doesn't make sense, is that Paul Birchill can go off TV for awhile, and he's not on the game, Batista can go off TV at the same time and come back after Burchill, but Birchill wont make it onto the game? Rubbish.

Also, the expantion of the Create a finisher mode worries me...it was alright in SVR2009, but I don't see why we need ridiculous aerial finishers aswell as ridiculous standing moves.

Mind you...the superstar threads thing does look fun...pink Undertaker/Kane anyone?

I do not understand why a game so focused on choreography doesn't come with a dance mat as a control input.

Totally agree, Hopefully they've enough clothing etc. to keep the attire up to date.
Roster isn't that impresive considering..
I mean there's alot of people left out that could have been added like Birchill, Sheamus, Hurricane Helms, Yoshi Tatsu etc. Some may be availble for DLC but we'll see.

True, although, my problem with them relying on DLC is, what if someone like me, hasn't got online? Or refuses to pay best part of £5 for 3 new people I wont even play as?
(See SVR2009 with DiBiase, Evan Bourne etc)

And it'd be nice to see more up to date clothing...

It could be good, but I hope that it has WWE/F Legends, Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 just wasn't the same without them.

The best wrestling game already exists....WWF No Mercy.
Off topic: Did you make your avatar?
I was given a base mesh, and enhanced it...god I need a new model :p
I remember having that program before and I wouldn't mind redownloading it. What was it called, X-Brush or something?
