I am glad to see another odinist on this site, tell me do you belive in the gods or simply the 9 virtues ?
May the gods watch your battles.

Oh yeah, sorry, you can't. Something called "Freedom of speech"Zeckt said:All right all right I admit I posted without thinking but this still gives me the idea that I should claim I worship zeus and sue the god of war developers.
You should probably settle down and stop blowing wind in my face, I admitted to posting that in haste. I'm not going to do any more then that to appease someone as angry as you as I don't care about justifying myself to your kind that picks fights so easily like this its not worth it. Please point your sword of testosterone somewhere else.Purtabo said:Zeckt said:Cool religion, so the video game Viking : battle for Asgard is actually a highly religious game for you! God of War must be an unholy offending abomination however. Oooooh I know you should totally sue them for portraying your religion in a negative light. Could you imagine if god of war was about killing the popular religious gods of today? it would cause world wars!
This is your chance to stand up for your religion! that in itself is unfair!
WTF are you talking about? How are the Greek gods the same as the Norse gods? Or are you just fucking stupid and mocking paganists? Oh and you are stupid;I'm pretty sure there are games where you kill jesus, and I'm pretty sure there are anti-muslim games as well, Is it WW3 yet??? :O Are you a troll or just that fucking stupid?if god of war was about killing the popular religious gods of today? it would cause world wars!
Wow, you know. Because I was TOTALLY serious in that post. Your the kind of guy that has to ruin the fun atmosphere at parties by trying to impress everyone by his attitude. Thats exactly what you remind me of and why I'm going to ignore you as a user so I don't have to deal with it.Purtabo said:Oh yeah, sorry, you can't. Christians tend to not be so touchy about Jesus / God, but making a game where you can kill Muhammed / Allah will get you short-listed for protective custody.Purtabo said:I'm pretty sure there are games where you kill jesus, and I'm pretty sure there are anti-muslim games as well, Is it WW3 yet??? :O Are you a troll or just that fucking stupid?
I'm sorry, my post seemed immature. I was kinda angry today and I didn't see that you posted that before I finished writing my post. But In all seriousness, I don't think people really care about that sort of thing; I mean people get angry with flag-burning, bible and Quaran burnings, but not enough to start a war, that is just silly. I don't think putting it in a digital medium makes any difference. As someone said, "who cares if you offend someone! Fuck-em! People get offended at the tiniest shit! If someone says; Ohhh wah wah i'm offended..., you say: Fuck you! I don't give a shit about what you think, what you do or WHO you do"Zeckt said:You should probably settle down and stop blowing wind in my face, I admitted to posting that in haste. I've heard of people in the armed forces getting "Jedi" on their dogtags as their religion. If you make yourself sound convincing enough, you can use that "it's my freedom of religion" line to get just about anything on there.TheBobmus said:Curious, is this an ironic kinda thing, or do you 'for real' believe in the tree of the cosmos etc.?
OT: I'd have thought they only recognise certain religions, but obviously not all that sure.

I was wondering if the Corps will allow me to put that as my religious preference on my ID tags. Also, will they allow me to have an Odinist symbol on my gravestone (Thor's hammer, Valknut) if the worst were to come to pass? Thanks!
I wouldn't see how his belief in a magic tree is any crazier than the belief in an immaculately conceived magic zombie.TheBobmus said:Curious, is this an ironic kinda thing, or do you 'for real' believe in the tree of the cosmos etc.?
Devil ... woshiping ... wiccan. Uh-huh. Well, I think I'm pretty much done with this thread after reading that.Johnny Reb said:well that's really lame. I'm not some devil worshiping Wiccan.Cakes said:For gravestones I know they can do a generic Neo-Pagan pentagram, but I think that's it. ok even i'll admit that when i pressed post, i probably should have worded that differently. my badKeltrick said:Devil ... woshiping ... wiccan. Uh-huh. Odinism is the modern-day reincarnation of the faith that was observed by the Germanic peoples of north-western Europe before the introduction of Christianity to the continent. But yes we do believe in the "old" Gods as many people may come to call them. The king of our pantheon is Odin, the wisest of our Gods. We try as hard as we can to distance ourselves from monotheist traditions. We do not cower to The Gods, we do not lay down to get the shit kicked out of us in the hope that our gods will protect us like a shepherd protects his flock. We are a warrior faith, we approach our gods with heads held high, proud. we defend ourselves, our kin, and our folk with our own hands, not with unbacked fearful prayer to a god that demands obedience and fear.DJjaffacake said:Well your question has been answered, but this bit made me curious, is an Odinist just someone who believes in the old Norse gods or is it something different, like a monotheistic version?Johnny Reb said:I'm an Odinist.
no actually Viking : battle for Asgard is a shitty game with horrible controls and graphics. good idea, poor execution. oh and im not going be suing marvel over their shitty portrayal of the Gods or anything along those lines. that's just silly.Zeckt said:Cool religion, so the video game Viking : battle for Asgard is actually a highly religious game for you! i knew that if i called it Mjolnir people would get confused. so i just called it Thor's Hammer. much simpler.lax4life said:I thought that Thor's Hammer was Mjollnir.
My lover is a Wiccan and with that in mind, I can tell you a fun little fact: there are so many different theological positions in Wicca. For instance, a Wiccan can choose to worship Lucifer, certainly, but some also choose to worship multiple deities, goddess worship, and some even follow the monotheistic Abrahamic God. My lover falls into this last category; she chooses to believe in the Christian God. Funny, innit? Wiccans are encouraged to believe in whatever they want to.Johnny Reb said:ok even i'll admit that when i pressed post, i probably should have worded that differently. my badKeltrick said:Devil ... woshiping ... wiccan. im just a little tired of people confusing Norse Paganism with Satanism or some sort of witch cult. we are normal people. we don't sacrifice humans and we don't use the sacred runes to supposedly tell our futures. once again, my bad.
really now? well i suppose you do learn something new everyday.AngelOfBlueRoses said:My lover is a Wiccan and with that in mind, I can tell you a fun little fact: there are so many different theological positions in Wicca. As for your Odinism being recognized by the army, I hope it works out for you!
