I'm currently thinking of upgrading my video card from my GeForce 550 Ti, to MSI Geforce GTX 770 Gaming (N770 TF 2GD5/OC)

The issue is, the motherboard I have is Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3, will I be able to fit my new videocard into this motherboard?

I have tried to look online but I get conflicting reports.

Anyone who knows enough about this stuff, or anyone who doesn't but has this setup working, please let me know.

Edit: The case I'm using is the following: Zalman Z11 Plus. A Midtowermodel.
Size: 26 cm x 52.5 cm x 49.8 cm

I've edited the size of the case.
I know this might be a stupid question, but I'd hate to spend 250 euro and end up with a device that doesn't fit in what is essentially a brand new case.

I've been comparing sizes, but without actually being home and looking at the case I can't say for sure it'll fit.

However, I have been looking at the Geforece 750 Ti as alternative.
It's not as good as the 770, but it should be a clear improvement on my current Geforece 550 Ti

The motherboard usually isn't the problem. They all use the same kind of 'dock' these days. The problem is the casing. The last video card I got was too big, and I had to cut out a small piece of my case's frame for it to fit.

As for your case and the card you want to buy, I think it will fit. I checked online to see what cards other people had put in. I found one with a picture, and the card he had put in was 27,1 cm, and he had room to spare. (like 2~3 cm) Yours is 26cm. So I believe it will fit. The only problem I can see is if you also want to use the slot directly below your video card. As those fans on top make it quite a thick card.

This is the picture I found with the card longer than the GTX 770 Gaming:

I bought this case for reasons like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D6GINF4/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Seriously, the BEST case I've ever owned. There's a nice amount of space, incredible cable management, and amazing airflow.

My 780ti, which is massive, fits with room to spare. However, I know that you stated that you pretty much got your case "essentially brand new".

Honeslty, I don't know. I hated working with standard mid-sized towers. Cable management became a chore, and any higher end components got increasingly larger and larger in size. My new cube-shaped case is still pretty large, but given the amount of room I have inside, I'd say it's actually saved me space vs a Full Size ATX case.

Many times have I run into the issue of a new video card not fitting into my current case. It's super annoying. For that reason, I tend to only run full size ATX cases. Sure they eat up a lot of space but you've never going to have problems fitting components into them. I'm currently using a Lian Li case. It's plain but very functional.......and huge!

I've got 2x ASUS GTX 770 mounted in my Zalman Z11 Plus case, and they easily fit with a bit of room to spare.
