I might, if Your Shape turns out to be good, as unlike Wii fit it actually gives some useful info, and if it can do stuff like read hip misalignment, it'd be totally worth getting for $150. I haven't seen any actual games that make it worth buying though.

No not happening and never will. I got a xbox to get some games that work better on consoles. I did not however, buy a Wii. If I wanted motion control I would buy a Wii for probably less omney and get more for it. I would not consider getting Move either.

I have high hopes that this gimmick will be expanded upon in the future and turn into something really cool, until then i shall cautiously watch it.

Absolutely not. I don't play games because I want to stand up and flail about like a retard. I play games to relax.

In my mind kinect should be cheaper and only there to benefit existing games, e.g. turning your head round slightly and being able to see what is to your left and so on, if it was there to make controller based games more involving like that then the cost would go down and it would appeal to a greater audience, in stead of just releasing shovelware for the entire system using your whole body, like the Wii has become.

#1) It depends on the pricing point. I have kids in the household so it certainly seems appetizing.

#2) To all the people saying "Fuck no" and "No way ever":
You do realize the 3DS basically didn't show any good software either right? And the original Wii? Overall Kinect is a great hardware tool. It does in-fact work. The level of quality implementation depends on those writing the software. Seeming as Microsoft is now gearing up for the casual market they will sink a-lot of money into this. Yes we all realize that there will be a lot of shovel-ware to sift through. But after wading through the waste high excrement you will find a chunky morsel ready to be melted down into pure gold.

In other words!: It has potential and as new software is released for it, those of you saying FUCK NO will probably turn their head for a double-take and possibly reconsider.

EDIT: Also, why is it everyone assumes you need to be standing for this thing to work? You don't need to be standing up.

Today's Nerf Now is very relevant. [http://nerfnow.com/comic/331] As is it's views on the "casual vs hardcore" debate [http://nerfnow.com/comic/330].

On topic: No, because it's too expensive, especially if you don't already have a 360.

Maybe if I become a masochist in the meantime.

... Seriously? 150 bucks for a reashed gimmick? Why don't I pay them to rob me while we're at it.

Not when it comes out, no. Having absolutely no content that interests me announced yet, it doesn't seem like a very good idea to buy it. On the other hand, if they actually release a good game that I'm interested in where the Kinect support isn't something like taking your hand off the controler to throw a frag grenade, I might concider. But that game seems to be pretty far in the future.

I'd rather contract AIDS from having intercourse with a plant I found in the midst of the fecal matter that was known as the Wii. If there was a chance it could be used for serious gaming then it would strike me as potentially useful in the world. But, because all it has is Kinectimals, it won't be. The closest thing that I've seen that could be enjoyable was the star wars game and that's just 'wave your arms around like you're getting attention of a ship' then force forward, it won't be any good.

No, motion sensing technology is not ready to be incorporated into the gaming industry any more than it has done. Heck, I'd say the Wii is better for serious gaming than Kinect.

Edit
...child of eden seems kinda cool though.

No, beyond Child of Eden I haven't seen a single game I would want, and I mean really wouldn't want. Perhaps if they started showing games I might like i'd consider it, but right now I don't even want to play the thing let alone spend money on it.

I might have, considering it's probably going to be mandatory for Fable 3.
But then I saw the new Fable 3 trailer... I died inside. I've lost all faith in the gaming industry.
Could you please link to that?
