I'll be getting it so that I can see what all the hype and big deal has been going with this game that everyone thought would never come out.

I doubt I will be getting it right away though, I have enough games to play at the moment so I will when my stack goes down.

Anything that's been trapped in production hell for 14 years doesn't exactly appeal to me (Except Half Life 2 Episode 3). This game just looks stupidly immature and pricy. I'm expecting it to suck, so no.

saw and played at PAX East. Its complete trash that should have been abandoned years ago. They try to cover it up with T&A but that can only get you so far.

Yes and why? Since when the f**k does Duke need a reason to shoot Aliens, do babes and chew bubblegum? Since never that's when.

Serious answer, I played it as a kid and it's become part of me. Had it not existed I'd of been a lame little nerd, instead I was a lame little nerd with their puberty skipped back a few years.

I'm honestly considering just buying it, keeping the wrapping on it, and keeping it on display.

20 years from now I want to be able to tell my kids "This was the high point of Gaming life. This is what gamers spent 12 years pining after for reasons they themselves did not understand"

If there is ever a Museum of Gaming (which there may already be, I don't know) I guarantee you that Duke Nukem forever will one day have a spot in it.

I'm buying it just for the sake of owning it.

Thinking about it, OWNING Duke Nukem Forever. I still have difficulty grasping it at times.

I suspect I'll pick it up but not right away - it does look like fun and DN3D was well-made but I already have a pile of games in my queue.

I'm waiting for a demo, reviews, and a price drop.
if all that goes well I might buy it.

I feel it's only appropriate to reply with the eloquence of the duke to this thread:

Shit NO.

I outgrew Duke's antics long ago. Hey he's back, that's cool... I guess? But I have other things I like more waiting for my money.

yup, ill be buying it on release i think. for several reasons really. first, the fact that this game is actually coming out, that duke is alive and kicking still! also it looks as funny as hell as well. and then theres the bust of duke, which has a place on my mantlepiece just waiting for it!

We've all been waiting a long time for various reasons. Some of us are genuinely interested in the game, some of us are curious as to what the studio has been doing for twelve years, and some of us just want to rip on it. Comment and discuss.
In fairness, Gearbox have only had it since 2009. 3D Realms had financial trouble and apparently had a bit of a reputation for late releases anyway, Prey took 11 years to come out.

I'll be buying it though because that sort of gameplay and humour is the sort of thing I'd buy anyway.

Sure, if the reviews are good I'll buy it. The original Duke 3D was groundbreaking and memorable, and this one looks very interesting too. I will probably wait for a lower price.

Maybe in e few years when it can be bought cheaply through Steam or Impulse, provided it's any good.
