I an seriously considering seeing the star wars rereleases but at the same time I feel that it would be cheaper to just watch them at home for less, and not have any 3D, but at the same time I havent seen the Empire strikes Back or The return of the Jedi so maybe I should hold off for the theater experience? I enjoyed the prequels very much but am not sure how the old ones will hold up. How about you guys?

Will I see them? No. Episodes 1-2-3 ranged from bad to meh. And, adding a 3rd dimension doesn't change the fact that the characters and plot were one dimensional.

You haven't seen Episodes 5-6? Go watch them. Now.
Granted if you've seen 1-2-3 already, the plot twists in 5-6 are pretty much already spoiled for you, if they hadn't already been spoiled by the fact that they're widely know amongst pop culture.

George Lucas only needs 2 dimensions to rape my childhood, I dread to think what he can do with a third.

If my friends are going I would tag along for the fun of it, but I won't be saving the date or arranging anything myself.
I wouldn't mind seeing the original trilogy in the Cinema though, if only to experience them in their massive screen glory.

Yes. No matter how cheesy or bad they can be, I love all the movies and I will be seeing all 6 in 3D. (Though I would rather see them in 2D on a bigass screen.)

No, as from my experience adding 3D to a previously 2D movie looks like crap. Also I don't think 3D would add anything new to this that really needs to be added.

Yes, but mostly because my little brother (he's 10) will want to go as he hasn't seen any of them on the big screen. The 3D effect isn't a major draw, but I can think of a few scenes that will be very interesting use of the technique. (podrace, reutn of the jedi's speeders in the forest)

No. Halo: Anniversary should have taught people that a visual reboot doesn't warrant paying the price of a new product.

No I won't be seeing it and I implore people to not see it either.
Lucas's habit of making a quick buck by milking fans over and over is a terrible standard to set for the industry and we as movie goers will only encourage this kind of nonsense by going to see it.

I might see Episode IV and V if I hear that the 3D is good on the first three. But no, I have no desire to see the prequels again in any form.

NO.

The prequel trilogy and the atrocious "Clone Wars" followups have wiped out whatever enjoyment I had form the franchise.

And 3D-conversion is a lazy cash-grab technique that should be avoided at all costs.

Ha ha. No. I have the set on VHS. I'll watch it in the comfort of my house. Why go out just to see them in 3D?(and probably altered, knowing George Lucas). Oh, well. George at least knows he can re-re-re-release these movies over and over and people will still flock to them.

Are you fucking kidding me? NOOOOOOOOoOOOOOOOoooOO!!!

George already has more money from me AND YOU than he deserves. For the love of god, make this re-release flop!

I mean, seriously, the changes in the Blu-ray release were enough to say "fuck you Lucas" to, why would you still pay him more money after that?

I hadn't even bothered to give enough of a shit to know which of the movies are being re-released.

Is it episodes 1-3 or are 4-6 also being released? I may consider seeing 4 and 5, but meh for the rest.

The 3D will probably be terrible, and admittedly I've always been more of a Star Trek guy. But you know what, I more or less liked the prequels (Episode I was the first movie I can remember seeing in a theater so it gets nostalgia points) and IV remains an absolute classic. I'd rather it was 2D, and the non-special editions as well, but I don't want to miss the experience cause who knows how long it'll be before these show up in theaters again?

I know I'll be skipping Return though. Nothing could ever convince me.
