So, I have decided to get a new pair of headphones. And as searching has turned up some options but is fairly frustrating, I was wondering if anyone on the Escapist had a recommendation for a pair of headphones. I really like wireless headphones (though a pair that can do both is ideal), I have a price range topping out at about $120, I would prefer rechargeable ones, and a microphone is appreciated but not necessary. So, escapists, any set that fits the bill you would like to reccomend? Wow that was specific... but hopefully someone has a pair in mind.

I've only had a chance to try out two pairs of wireless headsets in that price range but they're both pretty alright. The first was a pair of Logitech 'Clearchat PC Wireless'. They retail for about $65 at the moment and have pretty good sound quality, however they become ear crushingly painful to wear after a few hours of use. Unfortunately the left ear went in them so I got a full refund directly from Logitech (dat 2 year warranty) and got some H800s instead. They don't sound as good but they're much more comfortable and can work via Bluetooth as well as an included dongle (and have a slightly better mic). I got them for $50 but they usually retail for closer to $100 (I was lucky enough to get the last one in the store that was in an older, slightly different box).

However I've since picked up some G930s which are absolutely brilliant even if they're slightly out of your price range (so the H800s have mostly become my run around headset for with my phone). Great mic, best sound quality I've come across, 10 hour battery life (and really quick charge), pretty good 7.1 surround (them boomers don't stand a chance), and only cost about $160 tops. So yeah, I'm a Logitech whore, but their shit is great value for money (and they have crazy good customer service).

In before the audiophiles get here and start going on about how wireless is shit and you need to get a high end sound card and some Sennheisers, Plantronics or Denons.

I'm using the G930 right now.

It has great sound, although for the love of your sanity, the first thing you must do (if you get it ofcourse) is turning off the low battery warning sound. you will thank me later.

Now on towards a bit more detailed, like i said great sound, i love the 7.1 surround. Only the battery can get a bit fucked (as in, not hold the charge perfect) and sometimes the monitoring program doesn't fully cooperate with showing battery levels.
Also the plug in for the charger can break easily, so be careful with that (this is actually my 2nd one still had warranty on the old one thankfully)

All the problems i listed was with my old one (hence the new one i got now) So i might just been unlucky their, haven't got a complaint so far with my new one.

Haven't run into any of those issues yet...battery holds charge like nobodies business and I don't pay much attention to the levels since I usually recharge it after every few uses so it's only run down once (in which case the low battery notification was helpful, despite the annoyance). One good thing is that even out of warranty the battery can be easily replaced for just a few bucks. But yeah, gotta be careful with those charge ports...I've broken them on other things so I've learned to be careful moving anything that's plugged in, or more importantly not to put the cables anywhere they might get tripped over.

I use these: http://www.trustedreviews.com/sennheiser-px-210-bt-headphones_Headphones_review

I haven't regretted it all, I practically never take them off. They are bluetooth, come with a wire for connecting to an audio jack and the battery is removable so if you want, you can slide it out, plug it into a USB port and continue walking round with them using the audio cable while the battery charges.

I'm not an audiophile, but the sound quality is good IMO, and the headphones have a play/pause button, skip/previous track buttons and audio control on the headpiece so you can control music without needing to have the paired device to hand.

I've had it for over a year and its never let me down. The battery life was about 3 days or so of heavy use but its since reduced to about 1 day of heavy use for a single charge, although it usually only takes half an hour to reach full charge.

Of course, I uses these with my iPhone to listen to music, so if you're looking for PC headphones you'll need a bluetooth dongle for the PC.

Turtle Beach PX3.

Wireless, reasonably priced, good quality and comfortable. You can use them on PS3 and Xbox 360 as well as desktop.

Edit: Just realised you've already bought headphones. /facepalm
