I never took pills after mine. All my problems can from everything other than the pain. Actually, there wasn't even any pain at all from it for me. It was mainly swelling that kept me from going right back to school.

For the swallowing pills part. Try to drink something with it, or if possible, break it into 2 smaller pieces. You might not be able to though, depending on the type of pill.

Well, aside from the fact that they couldn't find a vein in my right arm after three pokes, and found one in my left after two, it was a good experience. I got to eat lots of pudding and drink juice. Good times. But the gauze was terrible.
