The other day I was googling stuff for fun (if you can call it that) and I cam across one site that had loads of famous quotes from people in history, like "If I were two faced, would I be wearing this one?" (Abraham Lincoln) and "a disorganised mob is no more an army than a heap of building materials is a house" (Sophocles) and it got me thinking about stuff. Any clever or witty things you'd like to share, feel free.

Here's another (it's about religion)- "the man who spends his whole life looking up will never see what's right in front of him" (me)

http://www.some-guy.com/quotes/words-of-wisdom.html - that's the only one I remember, just google stuff to find more

Actually, that one's pretty old. People used this to make fun of philosophers back in Ancient Greece already, Plato even wrote a joke about it.

"Silence is golden, but duct tape is silver." :D''

This is one of my favorites: "Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." ^^;

A drug is neither moral nor immoral -- it's a chemical compound. The compound itself is not a menace to society until a human being treats it as if consumption bestowed a temporary license to act like an asshole. Zappa, Frank

Sorry, I must have seen it somewhere and forgot. I knew I couldn't have come up with something that good

" I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds " ~ J. Robert Oppenheimer after seeing the first nuclear bomb detonate in front of him, the bomb he helped create.
Awesome quote. Actually though, he quoted it from the Bhagavad Gita.

"Everyone should have a belief; I believe I'll have another drink"

"Most people get lost in thought because it's unfamiliar territory"

I can't remember who said 'em, but those are two of my favorite quotes.

These are a couple I love

1. The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

2. Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

3. It's your god. They're your rules. *You* go to hell.

4. If you think things can't get worse it's probably only because you lack sufficient imagination.

5. I once prayed to god for a bike, but quickly found out he didn't work that way...so I stole a bike and prayed for his forgiveness

6. Parents spend the first part of our lives teaching us to walk and talk, and the rest of it telling us to sit down and shut up.

7. books have knowledge, knowledge is power, power corrupts, corruption is a crime, and crime doesn't pay..so if you keep reading, you'll go broke

8. If pro is opposite of con, then what is the opposite of progress?

Edit: How could I forget the real #1. Give a man a match, and he'll be warm for a minute, but set him on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

This one as well just cause...

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of 'hot xxx galore'. While I clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", I muttered, "give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

'Anger is a killing thing: it kills the man it angers for each rage leaves him less than he had been before' Louis L'Amour

This a great statement I think. Really hits home with me, as I've had my share of anger problems.
