Bleh PC system reqs are so stupid these days. Very dated system for it. Doesn't even take into account resolution or let you know in the least what settings you could get at recommended or w/e.

I demand a revision of how system reqs are released!

We need a "low" setting spec, and a "max" setting spec - and at a specific resolution too! Makes it significantly easier to judge if it'll run well...
Yeah I agree... I was running an ATI Redeon HD 4650, a 2.66 GHZ Quad core processor and 6 gb DDR2 Ram on my back up PC so I figured I could run Metro 2033 on at least high settings but no even though I met the recommended setting I still could barely run it on fairly low settings...
This is Metro 2033. This game hates every Graphics Card out there.

Time to update my graphics card, whenever my card becomes the "Minimum Requirement" I know its time to upgrade :p.

The 8800GTX has served me well though.

Also, more on topic, what the heck is on Geralts back in the second picture? His sword is there, but theres some kind of weird wooden apparatus as well. Almost looks like a tripod.
I recommend the GTX 460. It's great.

EVGA and MSI are good makes too. I have a cyclone and it's working amazingly.

I guess since it did the same on my old setup of crossfired 5770s... but it runs fine on my new system with dual 6870s...<.<

I have had this pre-ordered for months on GoG's. Finished the first one last month and I have my save game ready.

I am so looking forward to this game, I've had the collector's edition preordered for months. This is going to make up for Dragon Age 2, and it's not going to be compromised by having to take consoles into consideration.

Why is the minimum requirement an 8800? The consoles use a 7800, surely that should be the minimum?
It might be if the game was being made for consoles. This is a PC exclusive.
In that case, shame it is only Pixel Shader 3.0 i.e DX9. We have pixel shader 5.0 on the PC now and if you are not looking at hobbling the game for consoles why use less?

This was looking so promising right up to the subtitled slide. "Right on!" and "Are you staying around to get your fuck?". Horrific, shallow writing is once again the death of Witcher, confusing tits, arse and swearing with maturity.

Didn't they say that about Crysis 2? Like, in about 6 press releases... Before they made it a cross-platform game?
Yeah but CD Projekt is a very different story, being one of those crazy Eastern European developers who'd rather focus on their home market than churn out shit for big Western publishers. Must have been all that socialism when they were growing up or something.

wow.. first time ever I've seen an XP req of over 2gb ram.
Now now, that's a fact, don't go muddying the discussion with those. That this is record breaking in how unreasonable the specs are is nothing to do with anything because these "aren't exactly over the top".

i was hoping to get a new computer by time this came out. doesnt look likely though. atleast i meet above the minimum specs.

But im sure ill play the witcher a few times over the next year or so. with the 3 different beginings and like 16 different endings and al lthe talk about entire cities not being seen depending on choices earlier.

It's only taken a couple years but finally the single GPU version of the card I have shows up on the recommended specs for a game.

Even Crysis 2 doesn't have specs this demanding.

That means I might have to upgrade in a year or so.

Witcher II did not fall into the rut of every other game thinking "WE HAVE TO MAKE CONSOLE VERSION NAOW"

They do not have plans for it and I could not be happier about it. Focusing on good PC controls and gameplay.

I really hope that I will be able to play it at medium and/or above settings on my Intel Core Duo 2 3.06Ghz,GTX 260 896mb and 4gb ram without any issues.

If not,I think I might just have to get some upgrades,a thing which my wallet will suffer quite a lot.

Witcher 2 got canceled on the consoles due to the financial crysis a while back and since than I didn't read any news about it so I guess it just won't come out on ps3/xbox360 sadly.
at least you can play it with A 360 controller
