I type pretty well without it. I can spell much better typing then I can writing and I can spell better writing then I can speaking. Whenever my roommate asked me to spell something I would ask him for something to write on.

I didn't have a spell checker until two months ago when I got Firefox and I'm sure I did just fine up until then. My dad is a writer for television, so spelling, grammar, and diction have all been drilled into my head from an early age. I take pride in that, but because this is the web, it's not make or break. Typos happen sometimes.

Usually spell check likes to think I have misspelled a last name. I don't use spell check because I know how to write words in their proper form.

I'm one of those geeks that would absolutely LOVE Das Keyboard. Apparently cellphones and credit card payments come first before fun.

I use spellcheck but vary rarely, I always review what I've written before I post it. (Though you probably wouldn't guess that based on the stupid things I tend to say.)

I do not use a spell check system of any kind beyond reading what I type on the screen. This results in errors from time to time, the most common being the transposing of letters (hte is pretty common for me).

Yes, I do use the operas built-in spell check, mainly because I Don't speak English as my native language (Finnish is my first language) and the way we speak/write and construct words is totally different so it is hard for me to learn the more difficult words of English.

I'm brilliant at spelling words. Have been ever since I was a little kid. I don't need it, no.

I can't spell very well at all. Especially (<-- Spell Check) words that you can't just sound out. Though I try.

I've turned the spell checker off, since it was set to Swedish and I mostly write in English. But yeah, my spelling's usually hunky-dory.

I rarely spell words incorrectly, despite my frequent forays into the territory of the unnecessarily sesquipedalian.

(har har har, sorry)
This post made me squee a little. Or maybe a lot. ...Also, my own Internet spell-check thinks "sesquipedalian" is spelled wrong. Which it isn't. e_e

And that neatly illustrates why I tend to ignore it. ;) I'm pretty much a human spell-checker myself, so any errors are usually either typos I didn't catch or intentional misspellings for the lulz (omg i liek tu tpye lkie tihs!!) (ow, that hurt).

Tangent: Typos? Typoes? Argh, now I'm not sure which is right and it's driving me nuts. D:

Anyway, the main problem I usually run into is that I type fast, but not very accurately. So I make a lot of typos, but I correct them so quickly that I barely even notice. And my muscle memory likes to make me type words that I didn't mean to type (like, I'll try to type "jump", and my fingers will type "just" instead). Sometimes, just for fun, I like to type without correcting my mistakes; the results are invariably hilarious.

I won't deny that it's come in handy more than I would have thought, but a lot of that has been due to missd keys and the like.

It's also handy if I know I don't know the spelling of a word.
I see what you did there, nicely played.

No, I never use a spell checker, except at exams, spell checkers can save your grades then. But except from that, no, I'm confident with my English skills.

I usually spell things right and I look up words that I'm not sure how to spell. But honestly, the spell checker is annoying because I usually can't be bothered changing it from US. "Don't tell me I spelt 'realise' right ya dumb computer!"

My spell checker is set to Dutch (too lazy to change it), but I hardly ever type Dutch, so no, I really don't use it. Don't need it either.

I only really spell check if I am the OP or doing something important other than that I usually don't bother and usually get more or less perfect spelling anyway. There are a couple of mistakes I do however, which seem to be a habit more than a mistake.
