I'm sorry but I really hate America, I have no problem with Americans if I know them. I talk to them all the time I wouldn't be racist towards then or anything but overall ehhhhh I have an irrational hate for that country.

I'm sorry I guess....
So, less the actual people and more the actions of the government?
Kind of, but then ALOT of the people anger me which I guess is similar with all nations.
There are assholes in every nations, its just that the U.S gets most of the attention since we're a global superpower and have lots of influence.

Because Americans have the habit to be known for being arrogant assholes. That's just how it works. They hate us, and we hate the French. It's really nothing new.
to be fair, we americans hate the french as well...

EDIT: forgot to reply to the main point. People don't like us. That is all. No, it's actually because the rest of the world sees the stupidest actions made by the US, and so they think we're all like that :/

I wish Bush had gotten assassinated or something...

1 America is a total of two (2) continents
In common parlance, America refers to the United States, Americas refers to the two continents and associated islands and the continents are refered to individually (in english) as North America and South America.

2 The correct term would be US Americans or US citizens (unless he really hates every country in America)
Americans specifically refers to people from the United States just as Canadians refers to peole in Canada or Mexico's denizens are called Mexicans. Had the post been "I hate North Americans" or rather "I hate the people of the Americas" your point would have some merit. It should be noted that this varies from country to country. Portual for example refers to citizens of the United States as (translated) North Americans.

My questions are, why do people from other countries have such a hate towards another country that is equal to it if not slightly better/worse? And ignorantly assume all the people in said country are equally as stupid as the one with the most Darwin Awards?
Starting a war without internation consent or even without the presence of a definitive clear and present danger will certainly do the trick. Tanking the world's economy doesn't help. Having a wildly unpopular president is pretty bad as well.

You're not really the global Superpower anymore. Russia(maybe) and China(definitely) have more power just they won't show it.
Russia is an energy superpower, true, but they definately don't have the overall power of China.

(Or at least not the huge economic growth)

Well I'm British and I love the USA. I've been to NYC, Philadelphia and D.C. and it weas the greatest holiday of my life
I was at a friends house a few days ago with a few other mates who were all going on about how much they hate America and Americans and it just made me explode with rage so I respoded by roughly saying "That is exactly why most Americans are better people than you three! You sit there and complain about a country you've never been to and have no way to support this idiotic statement! Only British people are so fucking miserable that they sit down complaining about how shit they think other countries are!" I can't wait to move to the east coast of the USA. I'm so sick of the ignorance of British people in general
This sounds like I'm being ignorant about Britain but truth be told I've never had a positive conversation with a single Briton about a foreign county. Every Brit I've ever spoken to hates all other conutries. Hell, I go to uni in Wales and the Welsh despise the English to the point that I honestly feel uncomfortable being there half the time, so Brits even hate one another!
Sorry mate(hehe) I live in America don't expect enlightened converstaion about other countiers here either or about other Americans in fact were pretty hateful over here. But mostly its just those nationlist kids. Also WEST COAST B*TCH!

Oh and for me the only other countrys I've been to is mexico so I usally keep out of forgien converstaions.

There are idiots everywhere. It's just that the idiots in the US happen to be louder than the rest.

Also, you have to figure the SIZE of the US in comparison to other countries, too. The US is about equal in size to:

1/3 of Africa
1/2 of South America
2.5 times Western Europe
China (though only about 1/3 of the population)

So, you've got to figure in that by size alone, there are a lot MORE idiots in the US than there are in other countries.

I swear that Roosevelt really screwed us up when he determined that that we had to be the "world's police." We don't need to get involved in other countries. Let them do whatever they want, and let the UN sort it out if there are any moral issues.

United States citizens have been known as Americans. Yes not politically correct, but it is slang. I believe political correctness is a waste of time unless the intent behind the usage is malevolent or perceived as such. Honestly better things to worry about than silly labels.

I'll give you China, last I heard they're in a financial position to make the US dollar all but worthless if they became committed to flooding our currency out into the world market. They are such a critical factor in our economy these days, you could almost call them a "majority shareholder." Which is downright spooky.
But Russia? Seriously? Well...okay, perhaps...but nowhere near the power they wielded when they formed the USSR.

So someone called Americans dumb, and you felt it was required to make a thread about it?

I'm Canadian, and I get called all kinds of interesting names. Interestingly enough, mostly by Americans.

Just saying...
