The thing I hate about MW2 online is that it plays a lot like an MMO. I've been playing the damned multiplayer part JUST to level. If I wanted to be grinding, I'd play WoW. But at least I don't have to pay a second time.... But there were a lot of instances I felt could be fixed with dedicated servers. Why not just make it like Left 4 Dead? You'll have matchmaking, but you won't have to constantly see a "MIGRATING HOST" message on your screen every once in a while that has a good chance to kick you off anyway. I just want to play the game I paid for, not mash my face into the keyboard for the rest of it.

Also: the most frustrating moments I've had were people running around endlessly either knifing the entire team or akimbo shotgunning everyone they see. They were FAST and usually snuck up behind me. Then there were times where I was getting exploded EVERYWHERE. Then I lost a kill streak to a random grenade sailing through a window I haven't even passed yet.

Is it me though, or are challenges to unlock extended magazines a little hard? It was hard enough to get 10 but 40? Arg. I did manage to do it with the Berret though.(somehow)

My recomendations for Pave Low extermination? Cold blooded and a Stinger/Javelin.

Problem solved.

Yes, the game is horrendously unbalanced (and riddled with campers) just like it's predacessor but I still feel it's at least a minor improvement over the original (I'm just happy I'm not dying by a grenade blast every five seconds).
I agree that martyrdom should be a deathstreak, I like what they did with that.

Also, yes helicopters are annoying, but the most annoying IMO, is the harriers. Does anybody else's stinger not lock onto them or is that just mine?

Also not sure if this is just me, but lately, no matter where I am, if I kill 1 person on Merc TDM, there is always without fail another one behind me? Seems a little strange but is certainly annoying.

Still though, like my ghost death problem, you have to accept that the game is riddled with cheap tactics. It happens.

Its a highkill streak for that reason. To me its just another helicopter like that from cod4. It rarely kills me unless im targetting it or in its LOS. I use the Pave low or the harriers to trigger my attack helicopter. Ive got hand full of nukes due to the pave low <3

all the knifing bots drive me insane, how fast people found out how to get out of the maps and all the available bullshit cheats like visabilty through walls make it a nightmare, that and it caused my x box to die...

CoD:MW2 is about as balanced as a Fox news broadcast, however, for me it gets a pass because MW2 did something right...the SHOTGUN WORKS! So tired in MW of shooting at someone from 10 feet with a pump action shotgun and them not dropping.

The one thing that infuriates me in MW2 online is shittalkers (you know, those idiots that decide that when they kill you they have to CAPITALIZE EVERYTHING SAYING OMG N00B WHAT A ****** etc) grrrr
Pretty much every online game, unfortunately.

OP: I hated the MP, but thats because I played the PC version.
To be honest TF2 seems oddly resilient to this. It's pretty rare.

I don't really think it's unbalanced at all, I love the game >.>
Its unbalanced as fuck.
If I have a stronger weapon with stopping power and I shoot first, I expect the fucker to die, instead he kills me...
Fuck This Game.
Sounds like you're not very good at this game, and thus why you hate it.

I personally love the game , having reached level 70 I think I can summarize up woes. God bless Infinity Ward for drastically reducing grenades which would have killed the game if they were still as rampent. I know this is about woes but I had to get that out of my system. Onto woes. There seems to be some kind of "Curve" in multiplayer leveling. Once you hit the 50's it seems to take a lot longer to rank up than before. Second, Where the hell is double tap? That perk was not that great before, but now with the Model 1887, in particular akimbo, we need that! Third, where are the maps that take place in America? I battled in the Middle east, Brazil, Russia, but America? "Estate" might take place in America, but what about the suburbs? It was a blast dodging enemies in backyards, going from room to room wasting enemies, then holding up in gas stations and restaurants. Those would be the best maps ever! Fourth, Scavenger. Its great, but the potential to get a grenade or a noob tube is way to great. One grenade is enough and two noob tube rounds is bad enough but the ability to refill? good lord!

If you are bitching then you must not be smart enough to change tactics to compensate.

Getting killed by air support? Cold Blooded.
Corner campers? Heartbeat sensor.

Personally I love the throwing knife but nobody else ever seems to use it, instant 1-hit kill at short-medium range even while reloading or changing weapons.

Being forced to play a particular way because something is overpowered does not constitute balanced.

Let's say a shotgun can kill you from half the map away accurately, I could simply say "Get a sniper rifle". Doesn't make the shotgun any less unbalanced. Just a simple exaggeration to illustrate my point.

I guess your idea of a "Balanced" game is one where everyone can do whatever they want regardless of the situation and trade kills back and forth one at a time, Nobody would play that.

Pave Low gets shot down by a single Stinger missile. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, needs to have a class setup with Cold-Blooded and either Stinger Missiles or Javelin Missiles to take out air support. It's MANDATORY for any serious player. There is no excuse for not shooting down air support beyond "I'm a dumbass and like dying for no reason". Of all the things in the game to complain about, and trust me there's quite a few, air support is not one of them. My gripes would be, in order:

1. Getting huge rewards from care packages. It shouldn't be possible to get anything beyond a 7 kill streak reward out of a care package (which is a 4 kill streak and gives a random killstreak reward).

2. CAMPERS! Need I say more?

3. Knife jockeys. The guys running around like idiots with Marathon and Commando just knifing everyone from 20 feet away. It's stupid as hell.

4. Akimbo shotguns, particularly the Model 1887s. Probably the most overpowered weapons in the game.

Get a rocket launcher. They aren't that hard to kill to be honest.

The host migration is the worst part of MW2s online.

This is why we have mods to remove this tripe. I never understood why IW thought they could make their game so balanced with all these things.

Well, games are inherently unbalanced because of skill.

My idea of balanced is a game in which no single element is dominate over another by default.

None of this type really come to my mind yet. The point is, to say you need to utilize these tactics or you suck (my terminology not yours) is simply not a strong argument to make.

It's really a problem that predates MW2 anyway, so I'm not so much raging on MW2, as perhaps the way people play them in general.

OT: I prefer to run around with a shotgun. Nothing in a videogame is as entertaining as hitting someone 1-shot style with a pump action.

OTT: Why on earth is a silencer, red-dot or for that matter any attachment other than a vertical grip an option for shotguns?
