"That's not the least of it.... Look towards the forest" Sacri pointed to the forests where in the distance, the Metus Amet tower was visible, still slowly growing, and the screams of the horde and sounds of convicts and poor people with shotguns and light weaponry that were sent out as the first defensive wave were clearly audible, meanwhile entire monk regiments were marching out with gear, the local troops regarded them with a certain sense of astonishment, but seemed not in the least unhappy that the well-armed monks were going to be on the lines, no matter how few companies they had to lend.
Meanwhile-KEEPER REGIONAL HQ: at the forest monastery that was slightly out of the way of the city, a zombie offensive was approaching them, and getting driven back, Masters and Grandmasters were ordering preparations to retreat into the nearby city, which had much better fortifications. All of the ammo and supplies the local regional HQ had, which was quite a bit, was being quickly relayed to the city by runner teams of Apprentices and Journeymen.
Meanwhile-OUTER CITY DEFENSIVE LINES: Mages were already busy, preparing high-level combat runes, spells, rituals, and plans. The city defenders were preparing a few heavy weapon nests, but setting most of those up at the city's bunker and outer wall line. Any citizen with a gun had arrived at the last defensive wall, and was setting up improvised fortifications in the streets, many of them using hunting shotguns, had gone on raids on the horde.
MEANWHILE-AT THE ENEMY TOWER:Traffic helicopters to military aircraft were being loaded with combatants, and a few traffic helicopters remained near the tower, streaming live scout footage and using napalm grenades to set fires in particularly focused areas of the Horde, which was coming faster and faster. Eventually, a napalm'd area would be snuffed out by the corpses atop it. The tower, having been hit by a few RPGs someone brought along, seemed to be entirely intact. They would need more rockets and missiles and bullets to bring the colossally tall makeshift fortress down.
