Wolves are the least of your problem when there are Sabre Cats and Bears roaming around. To be honest, they've always been more of a problem to me than Dragons. And that's saying something, considering how weak I always seem to be against those flying menaces.

On my first character, a Kajiit, I tried to reach High Hrothgar. I was level Twelve and I got absolutely decimated by the Sabre Cat. I came back twenty levels later and was interrupted on my way up the mountain to meet said Sabre Cat by a pair of bears, who almost killed me. The Sabre Cat was still a challenge, but I killed it. The Ice Troll was easy.

But, after all of that, I finally had to give up on that character. I'm level 46 and I've only just discovered the last word of Unrelenting Force. The game felt kinda ruined by that point, since despite my level I still felt like most of the challenges I faced were extemely difficult. I started anew, a Nord, and plan to play the same way - it seems easier this time, god knows how. I'm about to scale the mountain again, at around about the same level as before, and hope to The Nine Divines that I won't have to go off and level again.

I got killed by an Ice Wolf, but just once. It was the first time I ever played the game. Instead of going to the first town to see dude's sister/uncle I went roaming the mountains. I found a cave and inside was an ice wolf with his back to me. I was only around level 3 or so and I thought he was one of the normal wolves, that I had just killed about six of, so when he attacked and all my health was suddenly gone I was like wtf.

Nope

I was killed by a Mudcrab once. I was fighting a dragon it was draining my hp but I knew I had just enough to kill the dragon before I would die. This bloody stealthy Mudcrab got behind me and hit me a few times and I died. UMAD? Damn right I was.

I can deal with wolves... though a band of thalmor with execution order for me for not doing anything on a new character is awful. I would welcome more wolves if it stopped thalmor justicator's from showing up at level 8 to destroy me...

At this point in the game, Draugr Deathlords are mosquitoes to me, so yeah I only bother with wolves to grind up whatever skill I want to. BURN WOLVES! BURN IN PERDITION'S FLAMES!

Seriously, if those Draugr Deathlords would stop trying to swarm me (it won't work) I could be in and out in 5-10 minutes. I just want to grab the treasure/kill the dragon priest/get the loot/get the word/etc. it'd be a lot simpler if you just got out of the way. ... You're not going to are you? Alright then. KRII LUN AUS!!

I've come to the point where saber cats and bears are about as easy as wolves were.

Ever get that loading screen tip that says "Bears are peaceful creatures and wont attack unless provoked" ?

so why am I being charged by bears every five minutes?
Most likely because bears don't like you walking into their territory. Which I guess in your case is all of Skyrim.

OT: I think I remember getting killed by an Ice Wolf, but other than that, no. Wolves havn't given me very much trouble.

They've become so easy, it's gotten to the point that when I whack one with my mace, I find myself shouting "BONK".

My level 19 Nord 1 hit kills wolves now with his Exquisite Dwarven Mace. I did have a lot of trouble a couple levels back with a giant Frostspider that I just couldn't kill on the way to Orphans Rock for the white tree quest, and that flipping draugr king guy that summons mage and frost auronach, It takes less than five seconds for him to kill me in close combat.

Ice wolves have kicked my ass. They did it frequently on my first char. and my archer ran into a pack of 5 at first level and almost got dead.

The fact that I can't travel 200 meters down a path on my horse without having to stop, get off my horse and kill the wolves swarming me every other goddamn minute.
And Bethesda failed to included mounted combat and made it so your horse gets bone-tired after sprinting for less than the length of a football field. It's like they were deliberately trying to piss us off.

Or (minor gameplay spoiler)
make us become werewolves

Meh. They level up my archery and I always walk everywhere so I don't have to dismount (oh, and werewolves are immune to disease :p ). But I agree, they appear suspiciously too often.

Haven't ever been killed by one, although I once ran into an ice wolf at a low level, that gave me some problems, especially on Expert difficulty.

We all know the puny wolves of Skyrim, weak, pathetic creatures who's sole purpose in life is to provide Dovahkiin with hides for fashioning leather strips, or occasionally some coins here and there.

So here is my question, have you ever actually been killed by wolves, or even genuinely threatened?

OT: I did once find a dead dragon next to a wolf, I keep telling myself the dragon was so disappointed by it's opponent that it killed itself.
You dont know what it is like.....you just dont know!!

I remember accidentally running off a cliff and falling to my death because I was running from some wolves because I was tired of killing them over and over again, but never in actual combat.

Ice Wolves have been killing me all the time recently. >:c

First one I fought I just ran up to it like it was a regular wolf and got pretty messed-up. If the game is going to throw randomly overpowered enemies at me, the least they could do is make them look different than generic wolves. I *wish* it wouldn't throw randomly overpowered enemies at me, though. Looking at you: Snow Trolls, Bears.
